dc.description.abstractAmaç: Çalışmamızda; hastane temizlik personelinde tüberküloz enfeksiyonu araştırılmıştır. Yöntem: Araştırma, Şubat-Mart 2008 tarihleri arasında Düzce Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesi ile Düzce Atatürk Devlet Hastanesi’nde temizlik personeli olarak çalışan, Mycobacterium tuberculosis’le karşılaşma açışından potansiyel risk taşıyan 106 temizlik personelini kapsamaktadır. Tüberküloz infeksiyonu, tüberkülin deri testi uygulanarak, balgam örneklerinin boyalı mikroskobik incelemesi ve kültürü yapılarak araştırılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmamıza 63 (%59.4) erkek, 43 (%40.6) kadın, toplam 106 personel katılmıştır. Personelde, mikroskopik ve kültür yöntemleriyle aktif tüberküloz saptanmamışken tüberkülin deri testi ile latent tüberküloz enfeksiyon prevalansı %74.5 bulunmuştur. Tüberkülin deri testi pozitifliği ile ekonomik durum, çalıştığı hastane ve Bacillus-Calmette-Guérin skarı parametreleri arasında anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuştur. Tüberkülin deri testi sonucunda en etkili parametreler; BCG skar sayısı ve çalıştığı kurum parametreleri olarak bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Temizlik personelinin diğer sağlık çalışanları gibi tüberküloz açısından yüksek risk taşıdıkları görülmüştür. Temizlik personelinin hastanede çalışmaya başladığı andan itibaren düzenli taramalarda tüberkülin deri testi yapılmasının, eğer gerekli görülürse balgam örneklerinin incelenmesinin, tüberküloz konusunda eğitilmesinin ve bilgilendirilmesinin faydalı olacağı kanaatine varılmıştır. Aktif tüberküloz olgusu saptanmaması hastanelerimizdeki önlemlerin yeterli olduğunu düşündürmüştüren_US
dc.description.abstractPurpose: The aim of study was to investigate latent tuberculosis infection in hospital cleaning staff Materials and Methods: Between February March 2008, a total of 106 (63 male, 43 female) cleaners working in two hospitals were included in the study. Search for tuberculosis infection was done by skin tuberculine test along with the microscopic evaluation of stained sputum samples and culture. Results: All diagnostic tests were negative regarding to active tuberculosis. The prevalence of latent tuberculosis infection was estimated to be 74.5% by using tuberculine skin test. The positivity of tuberculine skin tests significantly correlated with economical status, institution, and BCG scar parameters. The factors affecting the positivity of tuberculine skin test were: BCG scar numbers, working as a cleaner, the duration of work in the hospital, the hospital itself, the department of work. Conclusion: It was observed that the cleaners carry a high risk like the other health workers. It was concluded that; from the very first beginning of work in the hospital, regular tuberculine skin tests, evaluation of sputum samples when necessary, education and training regarding tuberculosis infection are helpful for the cleaners. As we have not observed any active infection, the precautions taken in the hospital with regard to tuberculosis seemed sufficient.en_US
