dc.description.abstractMühendislik eğitiminde ana hedef, toplumun bugünkü ve yarın oluşacak gereksinimlerine çözüm oluşturabilecek niteliklere sahip elemanlar yetiştirmektir. Sözü edilen eğitim sürecinin de uygulamaya paralel olması gerekmektedir. Dolayısıyla, modern mühendislik eğitiminin ana amacı mühendislik esaslarını ve öğrenmeyi öğretmek olarak tanımlanabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, orman endüstri mühendisi olarak orman ürünlerinde herhangi bir alanda çalışan orman endüstri mühendislerinin lisans döneminde verilen eğitim-öğretimi nasıl algıladıkları ve lisans döneminde verilen programın daha iyi olması için nelerin yapılması gerektiği temel araştırma amacıdır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda orman ürünleri sanayi sektöründe çalışan orman endüstri mühendisleri çalışma kapsamına alınmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda çalışan orman endüstri mühendislerinin ağırlıklı olarak üretim biriminde, kalite-kontrol biriminde, pazarlama-satış biriminde ve tasarım biriminde istihdam edildikleri belirlenmiştir.Sektörde çalışan orman endüstri mühendislerine göre lisans düzeyinde verilen eğitimin yeterliliği, özel sektöre uygunluğu ve güncel konuların anlatılması noktasında yetersiz bulunmuştur. Katılımcı orman endüstri mühendislerine göre eğitim öğretimin iyileştirilmesi için “Uygulamalı eğitimin” yüksek oranda arttırılması gerekmektedir. Katılımcılar uygulamalı eğitimin arttırılması için öncelikle yabancı dil eğitimin arttırılması gerektiğini belirtmişlerdir. Yabancı dil eğitiminin arttırılmasının yanında katılımcı orman endüstri mühendisleri müfredatlarda endüstriyel uygulamaların arttırılması gerektiğini belirtmişlerdir. Endüstriyel uygulamaların arttırılması ile uygulamalı eğitime önem verilmesi gerektiğini vurgulayan orman endüstri mühendisleri bilgisayar eğitiminin de arttırılması gerektiğini ileri sürmüşlerdir.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe main goal in engineering education is to educate the people who have the qualities that can make solutions to the needs of the society today and tomorrow. It also needs to be parallel to the training process. Therefore, the main purpose of engineering education can be defined as teach engineering principles and learning. In this study, as a forest industry engineer in forest industry, it is the basic research purpose of how forest industry engineers working in any field perceive the education given during the undergraduate period and what needs to be done to make the program given during the undergraduate period better. For this purpose, forest industry engineers working in the forest products industry sector were included in the study. In the results of the study, It has been determined that employed forest industry engineers are mainly employed in production unit, quality-control unit, marketing-sales unit and design unit.According to the forest industry engineers working in the sector, the sufficiency of the education given at the undergraduate level, the suitability of the private sector and the explanation of the current issues is found inadequate. According to participating forest industry engineers, "Applied education" needs to be increased at a high rate in order to improve to education-teaching. Participants stated that first of all foreign language education should be increased in order to increase practical education. In addition to increasing foreign language training, participating forestry industry engineers indicate that industrial applications need to be increased in curricula. Forest industry engineers who emphasize the importance of practical training emphasis by increasing industrial applications have argued that computer training should be increased as well.en_US
