Özet
The aim of this study is to determine the effects of the character and values education course designed according to project-based learning on students. The implementation process was carried out through action research. Both qualitative and quantitative tools were used to collect data. Research participants were 103 students studying in 2nd class in Guidance and Counseling program at a state university in Turkey. The Character and Values Education course, which lasts 16 weeks in total, was carried out on a project based. In data collection; “Attitude Scale towards Cooperative Learning” and “Human Values Scale”, “Process Evaluation Form” and “Student Letters” were used. Independent Samples t-test and Mann Whitney U test were used in quantitative analysis, content analysis method was used in analyzing qualitative data. It was observed that there was a significant difference in the attitudes towards cooperative learning and human values of the students after the lesson in total and in the dimensions of responsibility, friendship and honesty. In addition, it was concluded that this method positively contributed to students’ thinking skills such as critical thinking and questioning, scientific research and technology use skills, and social skills such as empathy, leadership, and assertiveness. © 2022, Milli Egitim.
