The aim of contemporary educational supervision is to take necessary precautions for the evaluation of the process embracing the all items that affect the teaching-learning process. The current research aims to develop the supervision of teachers and to improve the quality of the teaching-learning process by synthesizing the opinions, suggestions, applications of educators and their academic works. In this way, developing a teacher supervision evaluation model and implementing it to the educational system are determined. In this research, case study method from qualitative research methods will be used. Case study method mostly has the features of qualitative research methods, therefore it provides thoroughly analysis of the subject. Posing the questions of "what, how, why" while studying a variety of educational subjects is a frequently used method. The following questions will be studied in the frame of 'five n and one h' concerning the general aim of the research; why it should be done, how it should be done, when it should be done, where it should be done, what should be regarded and to what extend they should be sone, who should do it. The following steps will be followed in creating an effective teacher supervision and evaluation structure: Educators and educational managers will be interviewed. The data will be organized after analyzing the literature and legislations. The model of teacher supervision and evaluation will be formed. After teacher supervision and evaluation model will be created and reported. Scientific publications (notice and article) including the analysis of the qualitative data will be done.Öğe Role of School Principals in Conflicts Experienced at Schools(Iclel Conferences, 2016) Argon, Türkan; Göksoy, SüleymanThis study aimed to identify conflicts at schools resulting from school principals, behaviours of principals during conflicts and the reasons of conflicts and suggest constructive ways that school principals can use during conflict management. The study based on the survey model utilized a qualitative research method. Working group of the study was composed of 57 teachers employed in Bolu in 2013-2014 academic year. Data were collected with the help of semi-structured interview form and analyzed by using content and descriptive analysis. Results of the study are as follows: Personal attitudes of school principals (being insistent, inability to listen to others, indifference, differences of opinion and political views, bias etc.) and their professional behaviours (lack of knowledge about professional tasks, unfairness, lack of discipline, creating authority gap etc.) cause conflicts. Principals can present democratic-constructive, authoritarian, mediator, oppressive and indifferent approaches during the conflict process. Personal (character, feelings, world view, culture, attitude etc.) and professional (experience, status, performance, education, knowledge of legislations etc.) factors are effective on the behaviours of the principals during this process. Principals should present humanistic positive personal characteristics (be respectful, principled, virtuous, tolerant etc.), be able to assess the situation from multiple aspects and have healthy communication. Professionally, school principals should be objective, unbiased, constructive and mediating as well as democratic based on legislations and rules.Öğe Rewards, Punishment and Values Based Behaviors of Teachers(Iclel Conferences, 2018) Göksoy, SüleymanQualitative research method was used in this study which aims to reveal whether the teachers' opinions in the school are based on reinforcement / reward, punishment or values. Maximum diversity sampling method from purpose sampling methods was used in determining the study group. Preschool, primary school, secondary school and high school teachers (3) assistant principals (2) and principals (6) were included in the study group in order to increase the maximum variation. Eleven student teachers took part in the working group. The research data were analyzed according to the content analysis approach. Highlights of the research results are as follows: According to student teachers, teachers are more motivated by financial and concrete rewards because they think that such awards are influential because they want to get paid for their labor and duties. The awarded tasks that motivate teachers are; academic activities, projects carried out, teachers' extra-curricular activities, sportive, social and cultural activities, duties in the institution and at the district and provincial level as coordinators, and tasks that will leave a permanent mark in the school. Good and moral duties that inspire teachers are social and cultural activities for students, preparation of competitions, preparations for ceremonies, preparation for exhibitions and programs, application of new techniques and methods in course work, creative project studies, problem-oriented duties for disabled students and their families. The vast majority of the participants hold their moral judgments over their individual desires and interests. The main reasons for this are as follows: public pressure and prosecution, school culture, professional ethics that are more dominant than personal will, and teachers' being students role models. However, in spite of this proportional proportion, some educators think that the reason why individual profits of the teachers prevails their moral judgment is that they confuse business ethics and personal ethics and they perceive moral values on a personal basis.Öğe Novice school principals' sense of self-efficacy(Iclel Conferences, 2016) Göksoy, Süleyman; Argon, TurkanThis study aimed to identify conflicts at schools resulting from school principals, behaviours of principals during conflicts and The study aimed to identify novice school principals' self-efficacy perceptions. The universe of the study, which was undertaken by using the survey model, was composed of 284 novice school principals starting their administrative careers in Bolu and Duzce after completing the Administrative Training Course organized by the Ministry of Education in 2014-2015 academic year. The total universe was accessed during the lifetime of the study and 217 of 284 principals provided feedback. Data were collected with the help of Competency Scale for School Administrator and means, standard deviation, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used in data analysis. The results obtained in the study are as follows: In general, school principals perceived themselves as having high level of self-efficacy. The highest levels of self-efficacy perception were found in educational leadership, personnel development and decision making based on legal and ethical principles and data sub dimensions whereas the lowest self-efficacy levels were observed in developing cooperation with the community sub dimension. While career status, method of administrative assignment, level of education and seniority did not point to significant differences in novice school principals' self-efficacy perceptions, gender variable was found to be in favor of female principals in the scale in general and in the following sub dimensions: developing the school climate and vision, educational leadership and personnel development and decision making based on legal and ethical principles and data. The study suggests that school principals should develop themselves in terms of teaching-learning processes, school budget and getting to know the environment, that it is essential and of high priority to provide quality personnel to the schools administered by novice principals and that the number of female principals should be increased.Öğe Reflections and Applicability of Group -Based Teacher Cooperation in Classroom Applications in Schools(Iclel Conferences, 2018) Göksoy, SüleymanThe main purpose of coterie teachers' board in schools is to develop a common understanding among teachers and to contribute to teacher cooperation and self-evaluation skills of teachers. The sub-purposes are determined as follows: What is the level of responsibility and the level of support among the coterie teachers? Is there a competitive environment in the school that prevents the teachers' efforts and breaks their courage? What should colleague observation criteria be according to coterie teachers? Do the teachers in the coterie teachers' board observe their colleagues according to the colleague observation criteria? Case study method was conducted in the research and criteria sampling and maximum variation sampling from purposeful sampling method were used. Data were gathered from teachers from different branches working at different educational levels. As the data collection tool, semi-structured interview and observation forms were developed by the researcher. The responses of each teacher in the coterie teachers' boards were saved in the interview and observation forms. Content analysis technique was applied in the analysis of the responses and the data were summarized and interpreted.
