The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences between swimmers and non-swimmers in terms of empathy skills. In this context, 100 kids, swimmers (M-age=11,98 +/-,82) and non-swimmers (M-age=12,54 +/-,81), participated in the study voluntarily. Empathy index for children and adolescents developed by Bryant (1982) used in the study. This scale was performed on the swimmers and non-swimmers in a swimming tournament. The data was analyzed using SPSS 16.0 Package Program, and level of significance was determined to be 0.05. There was not a statistically significant difference between swimmers' (X) over bar empathy skills score 14,76 4,04 and (X) over bar non -swimmers' empathy skills score 14,46 3,69 (p>0.05). The results collected in the present study were discussed in this context. (C) 2014 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.en_US
