dc.description.abstract | Extensive research has been carried out recently using green deep eutectic solvents (DESs). In this study, a simple, low-cost, and at the same time high-efficiency, green ultrasound-assisted deep eutectic solvent liquid-liquid microextraction procedure was developed to determine Sunset Yellow dyestuff and its amount in effervescent vitamin C tablets. In addition, the study investigated and optimized a number of parameters that could affect the extraction efficiency such as the deep eutectic solvent composition, solution pH, extraction time, deep eutectic solvent and tetrahydrofuran volume, ultrasonication, and centrifugation time The FT-IR spectrum was used to characterize the decanoic acid, menthol, and DES. Under the optimum conditions obtained, a linear calibration curve was established in the range of 0.2-100 mu g mL(-1). The limit of detection was 0.32 mu g mL(-1), the relative standard deviation for 1 mu g mL(-1) of Sunset Yellow was 2.68%. In the final stage of the study, this proposed technique was successfully applied to determine the Sunset Yellow dye in different brands of effervescent vitamin tablets. | en_US |
