Özet
The aim of the study is to present the general condition of TPM facilities in forest products industry. For this purpose, face-to-face interviews with 77 forestry products industrialists in Bursa/Inegol were conducted. Findings were analyzed on SPSS through statistics means. The study demonstrated that 75.3% of the companies have a maintenance department independent of the organizational chart and that 53.2% of the maintenance departments have shown development. Furthermore, only 9.1% of the enterprises use the TPM system, 19.5% consider switching to it in the future, while 22.1% are uninformed about the TPM. The study also finds that the TPM implementing companies have experienced efficiency increase in general and equipment efficiency in particular, and a decrease in both scrap and breakdown rates.
