dc.description.abstractMigraine headache effects the daily activities and may cause important functional disability inwork and social life. In our study, we investigated the factors that cause disability in migrainepatients by using the Migraine Disability Assesment Scale (MIDAS).350 patients, diagnosed as migraine and who were not under prophylactic medication, admittedto the outpatient clinics of Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital, Departmentof 1st Neurology and GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital Neurology, were enrolled to thestudy. The intensity of the attack was assessed by visual pain score and the disability wasassessed by MIDAS. Patients were separated into 4 groups according to MIDAS scores.304 patients were female (86.9%) and 46 were male (13.1%). 231 patients were diagnosed asmigraine without aura, 117 were migraine with aura and 2 were basillary migraine. There wasa statistically significant relationship between gender and the duration of the disease with themigraine without aura (p=0.018 ve p=0.04, respectively) and also between migraine with auraand the intensity of the attack (p=0.023). There was a statistically significant relationshipbetween MIDAS and age (p=0.039), intensity of the attack (p=0.001) and the frequency of theattack (p=0.0001).Intensity and the frequency of the attack are the most important factors that influence thedisability in migraine
dc.description.abstractMigren başağrısı günlük aktiviteleri etkilemekte, iş ve sosyal yaşamda önemli fonksiyonkayıplarına yol açabilmektedir. Çalışmamızda migren hastalarında “Migren DizabiliteDeğerlendirme Ölçeği (MIDAS)” kullanarak dizabilite üzerine etkili olan faktörleri inceledik.Haydarpaşa Numune Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi I.Nöroloji ve GATA Haydarpaşa EğitimHastanesi Nöroloji polikliniklerine başvurup migren tanısı alan ve profilaktik tedavibaşlanmayan 350 hasta çalışmaya alındı. Atak şiddeti vizüel ağrı skalası ile, migren dizabilitesiMIDAS ile değerlendirildi. MIDAS skorlarına göre hastalar 4 gruba ayrıldı.Hastaların 304’ü kadın (%86.9) 46’sı erkek (%13.1) idi. 231 hastaya aurasız, 117 hastayaauralı, 2 hastaya baziler migren tanısı konuldu. Aurasız migren ile cinsiyet ve hastalık süresiarasında (sırasıyla p=0.018 ve p=0.04), auralı migren tipi ile atak şiddeti arasında istatistikselolarak anlamlı ilişki saptandı (p=0.023). MIDAS ile yaş (p=0.039), atak şiddeti (p=0.001) veatak sıklığı (p=0.0001) arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişki saptandı.Ağrı şiddeti ve sıklığı migren ile ilişkili dizabiliteyi belirleyen en önemli faktörlerdir
