Özet
Although mathematical wellbeing [MWB] has emerged relatively recently, it has attracted growing interest from researchers worldwide. Mathematics values may serve as a pathway to understanding MWB because the construct focuses on individuals' subjective, functional, and value-related experiences in mathematical contexts. In this regard, this study presents a qualitative metasynthesis of MWB studies conducted between 2010 and 2024. The study was undertaken within the six-step framework proposed by Sandelowski and Barroso (2007). In line with the predetermined parameters, studies identified in EBSCOhost, Web of Science, Scopus, and SpringerLink were screened for inclusion criteria, and 33 studies were ultimately included in the qualitative metasynthesis. The findings indicate that MWB research is both consolidating around multidimensional frameworks, particularly Hill et al.'s (2020) model, and diversifying through alternative theoretical, cultural, and affective perspectives. The interpretive synthesis further revealed three interrelated patterns in MWB research: conceptual consolidation, boundary clarification, and theoretical and contextual diversification. Overall, the synthesis suggests that MWB is emerging as a culturally situated, value-mediated, and multidimensional construct through which mathematics education research can examine how individuals feel, function, participate, and find value in mathematical activity. Suggestions for further research and stakeholders are also discussed.
