Özet
This study presents a comprehensive experimental and multicriteria performance assessment of a 9000 BTU/h split-type air conditioning system operating with R410A, integrating energy, exergy, environmental (total equivalent warming impact [TEWI] and life cycle climate performance [LCCP]), exergoenvironmental, economic, uncertainty, and indoor environmental quality (IEQ) analyses. The main objective is to establish a holistic framework that quantitatively links component-level thermodynamic inefficiencies to environmental and economic impacts under real operating conditions. The energy analysis indicates an average electrical power consumption of 681 W with an energy efficiency ratio (EER) of 3.87. Exergy analysis reveals a total exergy destruction of 444 W and an overall exergy efficiency of 35%, with the compressor identified as the dominant source of irreversibility. Environmental assessment shows a TEWI of 1197 kg CO2-eq and an LCCP of 1308.6 kg CO2-eq, with over 80% of emissions originating from indirect electricity-related sources. Exergoenvironmental results indicate an overall environmental impact rate of 0.312 kg CO2/h, confirming a strong link between exergy destruction and environmental burden. The economic analysis demonstrates that 98.4% of the total life cycle cost (LCC) is associated with energy consumption. IEQ measurements show excellent indoor air quality (CO2: 443 ppm; HCHO: 0.0206 mg/m3) while highlighting elevated sound levels (58.34 dB) due to experimental unit placement. The novelty of this work lies in its fully integrated experimental framework, quantitatively relating thermodynamic, environmental, and economic indicators while including human-centered IEQ factors. This holistic, repeatable approach provides a robust decision-support tool for optimizing low-carbon, energy-efficient split air conditioning systems. With uncertainty under +/- 3.2%, our validated framework offers a more reliable and comprehensive assessment than previous studies.
