Özet
This chapter, examines the packaging of food analogues, taking into account the materials and technologies used in packaging. Parameters such as shelf life, sensory properties and safety are important in choosing packaging materials. In addition to widely used plastics, biodegradable and edible options attract attention as environmentally friendly alternatives. With active packaging systems the shelf life is also extended by using less additives through the packaging material. Intelligent packaging systems provide real-time quality and freshness data of food counterparts. The detection of migration from the packaging system to the food analoge is important for food safety. Consequently, packaging of food analogues requires further studies, giving priority to environmentally friendly materials and effective technologies. Research in this regard will improve food analogue packaging and solve existing challenges. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
