Süleyman Arif Emre’nin Türk Siyasi Hayatındaki Yeri ve Önemi (1955-2002)

Özet
Bu çalışmada, siyasete Hürriyet Partisi’nde başlayan tecrübeli devlet ve siyaset adamı Süleyman Arif Emre’nin Türk siyasi hayatındaki yeri incelendi. 1923 yılında Adıyaman’da doğan Emre, 1944 yılında hukuk eğitimini tamamladıktan sonra 1955 yılına kadar avukatlık yaptı. Siyasi kariyerinde beş dönem milletvekilliği, iki ayrı hükûmette devlet bakanlığı ve Milli Selamet Partisi (MSP) genel başkanlığı görevleri yer aldı. Ayrıca kendisi en yaşlı milletvekili sıfatıyla 20. yasama döneminde meclis başkanlığı da yaptı. Bu çalışmada siyasetteki önemli tecrübelerinden dolayı Süleyman Arif Emre’nin faaliyetleri incelenmiştir. Süleyman Arif Emre’nin diğer önemli yönü ise uzun yıllar boyunca Türk Demokrasi Tarihi’nin önemli şahsiyetlerinden birisi olan Necmettin Erbakan’ın en yakın çalışma arkadaşlarından biri olmasıdır. Süleyman Arif Emre, yenilikçiler gelenekçiler mücadelesinde yenilikçilerin Fazilet Partisi’nden (FP) ayrılarak Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisinin (AKP) kurulduğu 2002 yılından sonra milletvekili adayı olmayarak aktif siyasetten uzaklaştı. Tecrübeli devlet adamı 2019 yılında vefat etti.
The role in Turkish politics of accomplished statesman and politician Süleyman Arif Emre, who began his political career with the Freedom Party, has been examined in this article. Emre who was born in 1923 in Adıyaman worked as a lawyer until 1955 after completing his legal degree in 1944. His political career spanned five terms in parliament, state ministry in two different governments, and chairmanship of the National Salvation Party (MSP). He additionally served as the parliament speaker in the twentieth legislative term as the oldest deputy. Süleyman Arif Emre's activities have been examined in this study because of his significant political expertise. Another significant aspect of Süleyman Arif Emre is being one of Necmettin Erbakan's closest colleagues for many years. Süleyman Arif Emre stepped back from politics by refusing to run for parliament as a member after the formation of the Justice and Development Party in 2002 by the innovators who broke away from Virtue Party after the competition between innovators and traditionalists. The accomplished statesman passed away in 2019.
