The economy is in a vital position that directly affects the existence and continuity of a state and is one of the main factors that direct international relations and determine the war-peace preferences of states. It is very important to produce feasible strategies for a strong economy and make this a political goal. The determined strategies and targets are directly related to the political, economic and military potential of the countries. Successfully implemented strategies enable the achievement of goals, which strengthens the power of the state. Thus, it expands both its borders and spheres of influence. The main purpose of the Byzantine-Sasanian struggle that took place in the 6th and 7th centuries and the real reason that determined the course of relations between the two states was again economy. When examining Byzantine-Sasanian relations, it is necessary to access and benefit from many old and new source works. This study, which we prepared by referring to Byzantine chronicles, Arabic works written in the Middle Ages and studies conducted in Turkey, examines the Roman-Persian struggle, which were the main actors of the east-west struggle in the Middle East, and the Byzantine-Sasanian Empire, who saw this struggle as a historical heritage and mission inherited from them. The social structures of the states, their political, economic, social, military and religious relations, the land and sea areas where the Roman-Persian struggle took place, the historical course of the struggle on the Arabian Peninsula and the competition that ended with the collapse of the Sassanid state are included.
