Ormancılık Makalelerinde Türkçe Sözcük Kullanım Değişimlerinin İncelenmesi: Forestist Dergisi Örneği

dc.description.abstractBu araştırmada İstanbul Üniversitesi-Cerrahpaşa Orman Fakültesi Dergisi’nde (Forestist) yayımlanmış makalelerde dönemsel kelime kullanımlarına yönelik bir içerik analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Dönemsel kelime kullanımlarını tespit etmek, dilin evrimini ve zaman içerisindeki değişimini anlamak için son derece önemlidir. Bu bağlamda tam metnine ulaşılabilen 2293 adet araştırma incelenmiştir. Makaleler onar yıllık dönemlere ayrılarak kelime kullanım sıklıkları belirlenmiştir. Zamansal kelime kullanım değişimlerini belirlemek maksadıyla, eski dönemlerde sık kullanılıp günümüzde kullanılmayan ve günümüzde kullanılmasına karşın eski dönemlerde kullanılmayan kelimeler tespit edilerek incelenmiştir. Ayrıca Türkçede Batı Kökenli Kelimeler Sözlüğünde yer alan kelimelerin dönemsel kullanım sıklıkları da belirlenmiştir. Sonuçta, geçmişte yaygın kullanılan birçok kelimenin günümüzde hiç kullanılmadığını, geçmişte yaygın kullanılan birçok kelimenin de bugün hiç kullanılmadığı belirlenmiştir. Aynı zamanda, batı dillerinden gelen kelimelerin de ormancılık bilimi yazılarında sıkça kullanıldığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Bilimsel dergilerde yayımlanan yazıların, meslek mensuplarını ve toplumu bilgilendirici görevi olduğundan, bu metinlerde dilimizin doğru kullanımı açısından dil incelemesinin, dilbilim alanından uzmanların desteği de alınarak yapılması önerilebilir.
dc.description.abstractIn this study, a content analysis was conducted to examine the periodic use of word usage in articles published in the Journal of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Forestry (FORESTIST). Identifying periodic patterns in word usage is crucial for comprehending the evolution of language and its transformation over time. In this context, 2,293 studies, whose full text can be accessed, were examined. The frequency of word usage was determined by dividing the articles into ten-year intervals. To identify changes in temporal word usage, we examined words that were frequently used in oldest periods but are no longer used today, as well as words that are commonly used today but were not used in oldest periods. The frequency of word usage in the Dictionary of Words of Western Origin in Turkish was also determined. As a result, it has been determined that many words that were commonly used in the past are no longer used today, and many words that were once widely used are now obsolete. It has been revealed that forest science writings often incorporate words from Western languages. Since articles published in scientific journals have the responsibility of informing professionals and society, it is recommended that language analysis be conducted with the support of linguistics experts to ensure the correct use of language in these texts.
