Özet
Sürdürülebilir kalkınma gelecek nesillerin, ihtiyaçlarını karşılamaya yönelik yetenek ve olanaklarını kısıtlamaksızın, bugünkü ihtiyaçların karşılanmasıdır. Sürdürülebilir kalkınma, ekonomik kalkınma yanında çevresel ve sosyal sürdürülebilirlik unsurlarını da içermektedir. Sürdürülebilir kalkınma sürecinde başta devletler olmak üzere, şirketlere, finans sektörüne, sivil toplum örgütlerine ve diğer bütün kesimlere önemli görevler düşmektedir. Finansal sektör, çevre üzerinde dolaylı (fon sağladığı alanlar aracılığıyla) ve doğrudan (doğrudan enerji kullanımı ile) etkiler meydana getirmektedir. Bu bağlamda finansal sektörün, çevre ve dolayısıyla sürdürülebilir kalkınma üzerinde etkisini belirlemek önem kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada 1980-2012 döneminde finansal sektör gelişimin sürdürülebilir kalkınma üzerinde etkisini ölçmek için çok değişkenli regresyon analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar, finansal sektörün sürdürülebilir kalkınma üzerinde olumlu ve olumsuz etkileri olduğunu göstermektedir
Sustainable development is to satisfy the needs of today's demand without compromising the ability and opportunity of the future generations to meet their own needs. Sustainable development includes the components of ecological and social sustainability in addition to the economic developments. In the process of sustainable development, especially the states, corporations, financial sector, and all other segments of civil society organizations have important roles. Financial sector constitutes indirect effects on the environment (by means of providing funds) and direct effects (directly energy usage). In this context, it comes into prominence to determine the impact of financial sector on the environment and therefore on the sustainable development. In this study, in order to analyze the financial sector development on the sustainable development in the period of 19802012, multivariate regression analysis method was used. According to the results, it was concluded that financial sector has both positive and negative impacts on the sustainable development
