Sabahattin Ali, who is admitted as one of the important storyteller of Turkish Literature, deals generally with Anatolia and Anatolian people from various perspectives with social realistic attitude and a deeply view. In these stories, soldiers and civil servants who work in city, town and villages are examined closer with their mentality, public relations, attitude and behaviors against events/situations. In these tales, gendarme in societies in the process of modernization or modern represents a class that violence become concrete and displays mostly patrimonial characteristic type. Gendarme and police as a coterie that forms ‘Symbolic violence’ have specific torture, confession and interrogation methods. These civil servants have become a tool of interrogating a mentality for writer. While guardians are in bribery and corruption, governors are meddlesome persons. Public prosecutors are seen as ones who does things on a day to day basis. While district governors are characters which represent distance to reality and public. In a system that doctors and hospital attendants are degenerating, other civil servants are stranger to public, cruel, inconsiderate, vindictive, grafter and self-seeker. These civil servants, who mostly identify themselves with the state have lost their main personality as well. These attitudes and behaviors have left negative impressions on public and imbedded in social subconscious. In such an environment, Sabahattin Ali, with his stories, reveals his compassion and love to public and people by standing their side.
