Pneumatic systems are widely used among automation components in industry. They contribute to increased efficiency and quality in mass production. Their safety, cleanliness, and simplicity of construction increase their likelihood of being preferred. Furthermore, friction and air compressibility (nonlinearity) require careful attention at the control point. Controlling designs developed in this direction is of particular importance. Uncertain assessments of low, high, cold, and hot conditions are challenging situations encountered in daily life. Uncertainties encountered in industry are also a weakness of control systems. Today, effective control can be achieved against uncertainties through fuzzy logic modelling. High stability, combined with low energy and time consumption, can be achieved through fuzzy logic applications. In this study, a proportional valve in a pneumatic system was controlled using fuzzy logic, achieving precise actuator efficiency. Using input and output membership functions and a rule base, the reference voltage applied to control the proportional valve was calculated without any time loss. The current cylinder position and the required position for the next task were processed, and the output value was converted into a reference voltage that would allow the proportional valve to perform the necessary orientation. Experimental studies were conducted using the Arduino code editor and card in the design to make the system more economical than alternative control methods. With its precise control, the resulting design results in systems with nonlinear dynamics (such as friction and fluid compression), which will become the preferred design. It sets a precedent for achieving more efficient and economical results in the future with developing technology.
