| dc.description.abstract | Although the wood material, which has a natural and organic structure, has some properties that will protect itself against external factors, it loses these properties over time. For this reason, it must be impregnated and/or its surfaces must be covered with protective layers (paint/varnish). These protective layers can lose their protective properties over time, reducing the strength and service life of the material. In addition, this situation may cause wood material to look bad aesthetically. For this reason, it is necessary to remove the layers that have lost their protective function, to perform the necessary maintenance and to re-apply a protective layer. Although it is an exceedingly difficult and laborious process to clean the worn protective layers without damaging the wood surface and the environment, there are many methods and tools used today. In this study, environmentally friendly methods and blasting media that are frequently preferred for cleaning the protective layers on wooden material surfaces are discussed. The main purpose of this paper is to compile the knowledge and experience obtained from the studies in the field of wood surface cleaning and thus to facilitate the researchers and practitioners to reach the literature. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Doğal ve organik bir yapıya sahip olan ağaç malzeme her ne kadar dış etkilere karşı kendisini koruyacak birtakım özelliklere sahip olsa da harici etkilere karşı uzun süre dayanamaz. Bu nedenle ya emprenye edilmekte ya da yüzeyleri koruyucu katmanla (boya/vernik) kaplanmaktadır. Ağaç malzeme yüzeylerine uygulanan bu koruyucu katmanlar, zamanla koruyucu özelliğini yitirebilmekte, malzemenin dayanımını, kullanım ömrünü azaltmakta ve estetik olarak kötü görüntüye neden olabilmektedir. Bu yüzden, eskimiş koruyucu katmanların ahşap yüzeylerinden kaldırılarak gerekli bakımların yapılması ve yeniden koruyucu katman uygulanması gerekmektedir. Koruyucu katmanların ağaç malzeme yüzeyine ve çevreye zarar vermeden temizlenmesi oldukça zor ve zahmetli bir işlem olmakla birlikte, günümüzde kullanılan birçok yöntem ve temizleme gereci bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, ağaç malzeme yüzeylerindeki koruyucu katmanların temizliğinde sıkça tercih edilen çevreye duyarlı yöntem ve temizleme medyaları ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, ahşap yüzey temizliği alanındaki araştırmalar ile elde edilen bilgi ve tecrübeleri topluma tek kaynak üzerinden aktarmak ve böylece araştırmacı ve uygulayıcıların literatüre ulaşmasını kolaylaştırmaktır. | |
