dc.description.abstractBu çalısmada; ısıl islem uygulanan Gürgen Yapraklı Kayacık (Ostryacarpinifolia Scop.) odununun teknolojik özellikleri incelenmistir.Odunun ısıtılması muamelesi eski çaglardan beri bir kurutma ve özelliklerinmodifiye edilmesinde kullanılan bir metottur. Günümüzde de ısı muamelesi aynınedenlerden dolayı kullanılmaktadır.Üç farklı sıcaklık (120, 150 ve 1800C) ve üç farklı süre (2, 6 ve 10 saat)olmak üzere toplam 9 varyasyonda olusturulan deneme deseninde her varyasyon içinayrı kontrol grubu olusturulmustur. Isıl islem uygulaması normal atmosferortamında, sıcaklıgı ±10C duyarlıkta kontrol edilebilen bir etüvde gerçeklestirilmistir.Isıl isleme tabi tutulan test örneklerinde fiziksel özelliklerden; tam kuruyogunluk ve genisleme, mekanik özelliklerden egilme direnci ve egilmede elastikiyetmodülü tespit edilmis ve kontrol gruplarıyla karsılastırılmıstır.Sonuç olarak; ısıl islem uygulamasının fiziksel özellikler üzerindeki etkisiözellikle boyut stabilizasyonu bakımından memnun edici bulunmustur. Fiziksel vemekanik özelliklerde, genellikle artan sıcaklık ve süreye baglı olarak bir düsüskaydedilmistir.Elde edilen sonuçlar ANOVA ve Duncan testi kullanılarak ısıl islem görmüsodunun fiziksel ve mekanik özelliklerine sıcaklık ve sürenin etkileri belirlenmistir.Sonuçlar ısıl islemin örneklerin fiziksel özellikleri üzerinde özellikle de genislemeüzerine etkisinin olumlu oldugunu göstermistir. Sıcaklık ve sürenin artmasıylamekanik ve teknolojik özelliklerde düsüs oldugu gözlenmistir.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this sudy, some technologic properties of heated European Hophornbeam(Ostrya carpinifolia Scop) wood was investigated.Heating wood has since ancient times been a method to dry and modify itsproperties. Nowadays heat is used in industrial processes for the same reasons.Heat treatment was applied on the wood samples at three differenttemperatures (120, 150 and 180°C) and three different durations (2, 6 and 10 hours)under atmospheric pressure (± sensitively).As physical properties; oven-dry density and swelling, as mechanicproperties; static bending strength and modulus of elasticity were determined.The results indicated that the effects of heat treatment on physical propertiesespecially with dimensional stabilization was found satisfactory. Physical andmechanic properties values generally exhibited a decrease with increasing theexposure durations and temperatures.The obtained results were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan Test, theeffects of temperature and duration to physical and mechanical properties weredetermined. According to the results, increasing temperatures resulted more weightloss on the heat treated specimens than the control specimens. The results indicatedthat the effects of heat treatment on physical properties of specimens in regard toswelling was found satisfactory. Mechanic and technologic properties generallyexhibited a decrease with increasing the exposure durations and temperatures.en_US
