CT and MRI in the diagnostic and therapeutic management of intracranial lipomas

| dc.description.abstract | Intracranial lipomas are rare and usually asymptomatic. However, they may be symptomatic according to their localization. In this article, we aimed to report a case who presented with headache and diagnosed with intracranial lipoma which was detected at computed tomography CT and confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging MRI . Intracranial lipomas which are difficult treat by surgery should be diagnosed easily with CT densitometry and MRI without invasive procedure. Also, CT and MRI may be helpful in determining treatment choice and following up the lesion. | |
| dc.description.abstract | İntrakranial lipomlar nadir görülür ve genellikle asemptomatiktir. Bununla beraber lokalizasyonuna göre klinik belirti verebilirler. Bu yazıda baş ağrısı şikayeti ile başvuran ve bilgisayarlı tomografide BT tespit edilerek manyetik rezonans görüntüleme MRG ile tanısı teyit edilen intrakraniyal lipom vakasını sunmayı amaçladık. BT dansitometrik değerlendirme ve MRG inceleme ile invaziv bir işlem uygulanmadan cerrahi tedavisi zor olan intrakranial lipomların tanısı kolaylıkla konulabilir. BT ve MRG tedavinin belirlenmesi ile lezyonun takibinde de kolaylık sağlamaktadır. | |
