In this study, safety motivation, safety communication, safety knowledge, and safety compliance were examined as factors associated with safety participation among employees in healthcare institutions. The primary aim is to investigate the effects of these factors on safety participation. Additionally, a literature review was conducted on studies addressing the antecedent, consequent, mediating, and moderating roles of safety participation, and the findings were compiled in a tabular format. A survey designed using a five-point Likert scale was administered to employees working in healthcare institutions located in the province of Düzce, and data were collected from 240 participants. To ensure data purity, after necessary analyses, the dataset was refined to 235 valid responses, which were used in subsequent analyses. The findings regarding the antecedent, consequent, mediating, and moderating concepts identified in the literature review are presented in both tabular and graphical form. For the analysis, SPSS 26 software was employed. Regression analysis was conducted to determine the effect size of the factors; reliability analysis was used to assess the reliability of the measurement tools; correlation analysis was carried out to examine the strength and presence of relationships between variables; and various difference analyses were performed to assess group differences. The results revealed that safety motivation, safety knowledge, and safety compliance significantly influence safety participation, whereas safety communication does not have a significant effect. Since this study addresses the factors influencing safety participation behavior, the findings can be utilized in efforts to enhance safety in healthcare institutions.
