| dc.description.abstract | The subject of this study is the Late Roman Red Slip wares found in the excavations carried out in Olba. The material recovered from the structures of the theatre and the monastery makes it possible to assess the extent of the Mediterranean Basin pottery trends as reflected in the city in the Late Antique period. In this context, it can be determined that the importation of Late Roman Red Slip wares, which began to appear from the middle of the 5th century AD in Olba, continued until the end of the 7th century AD. The Phocaean Red Slip Ware seen in the city from the middle of the 5th century AD was followed by Light Coloured Ware dating to the middle of the 6th century. Phocaean Red Slip Ware, which from the first half of the 6th century AD had again gained importance, was in demand until the middle of 7th century AD. This pottery was followed by African Red Slip Ware and Cypriot Red Slip Ware from the middle of the first half of the 6th century AD. © the individual authors and Archaeopress 2023.
