Nowadays, increasing customer expectations and continuously evolving quality standards have made it imperative for businesses to effectively reflect customer demands in their products and services to maintain their competitive advantage. In this context, firms operating in the automotive main industry require their suppliers to analyze their measurement systems to ensure the reliability of measurement data of the supplied parts. Suppliers are expected to identify variances originating from their measurement systems and improve their processes accordingly. Therefore, it is critical for subcontractor companies producing parts for the automotive sector to evaluate the accuracy of measurement results in their production processes and perform measurement system analyses. This study aims to emphasize the importance of measurement systems analysis within the automotive sector in accordance with the IATF 16949 quality management system requirements and to provide a guiding example for companies implementing these analyses for the first time. The research was conducted in a company operating in the automotive industry, where three quality control operators measured ten sample parts selected from serial production three times each, resulting in a total of 90 measurement data points. The collected data were analyzed using the Quantitative MSA – ANOVA method, evaluating variances caused by the measurement system in four main categories: parts, operators, part-operator interaction, and measurement device error. The analysis results indicated that the current measurement system is at an acceptable level but can be further improved through continuous enhancements. Additionally, the effects of measurement systems analyses on quality improvement processes as well as costs were examined, revealing that these analyses play a significant role in reducing costs associated with defective production and rework. It was concluded that the feedback obtained directly contributes to the company's continuous improvement efforts and cost-effective management.
