Özet

Neuromuscular diseases (NMD) are a heterogeneous group of disorders that affect the peripheral nervous system and muscles, with symptoms such as weakness, numbness, tingling, and muscle cramps. Weakness can affect many muscles. Some can be hereditary, while others can be acquired. In hereditary neuromuscular diseases, consanguineous marriages pose a significant risk. Acquired neuromuscular diseases can arise from various reasons. The primary goal in all these diseases is to identify and start early treatment if there is a treatable cause that has led to the disease and to improve the quality of life through stabilization of the disease with rehabilitation programs. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
