Abstract
Let us summarize the very basics and get an overview about the process that would be discussed mainly in this chapter and then throughout the book, i.e. corrosion. Corrosion is synonymous to degradation but to tackle and control it we must know all the types of corrosion that may lead to industrial failure and the environment, which may promote or suppress them. Then we would discuss about the exact methods to control this degradation, which is almost found everywhere be it in the industries or in our daily lives. It is of prime importance to study what corrosion may lead us to and how can we prevent this damage from occurring. © 2022 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
