dc.description.abstractBesides there are many factors in the development of a country, a development plan that has been prepared considering regional sources has a high potential of being successful. In this direction, we focused on hazelnut sector which is an important source of income and support for the West Black Sea Region. In the cities that grow hazelnuts in the region, the industrial sector is at the forefront, while the hazelnut sector in Düzce appears to be in the foreground. Therefore, Düzce province was chosen as the research area. The main purpose of this research is to demonstrate the competitiveness of Düzce hazelnut industry with the help of Porter's "Diamond Model". Qualitative research method was preferred in the research and data were obtained using the interview technique. The universe of the research consists of players such as (Chamber of Agriculture, Commodity Exchange, Düzce University, Chamber of Commerce, Agricultural Credit Cooperatives, Fiskobirlik and Hazelnut Enterprises) that are the foremost players in the hazelnut sector in Düzce. While obtaining the data thirty people were planned to be interviewed with, but interviews were made with twenty-four people. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis method. As a result of the analysis for each factor in the model, it has been seen that factor conditions have moderate level, demand conditions have medium-high level, firm strategy, the structure and rivalry factor has very low level, related and supporting industries have moderate level, government factor has low-moderate level and chance factor has high level of competition power. Generally, the hazelnut sector of Düzce has a structure close to the middle level of competitiveness. But it is foreseen that competition power of the sector will decrease unless precautions are taken against the unstable factors (climate, price policy, new production areas and new competitors) in the sector.
dc.description.abstractBir ülkenin kalkınmasında birçok etken bulunmakla birlikte, bölgesel kaynakları göz önünde bulundurarak hazırlanan bir kalkınma planının başarılı olma olasılığı daha yüksek görülmektedir. Bu doğrultuda araştırmamızda Batı Karadeniz bölgesi için önemli bir gelir ve geçim kaynağı olan fındık sektörü ele alınmıştır. Bölge genelinde fındık yetiştiren şehirlerde sanayi sektörü ön plana çıkarken, Düzce’de fındık sektörü ön planda gözükmektedir. Dolayısıyla araştırma alanı olarak Düzce şehri seçilmiştir. Yapılan bu araştırmanın temel amacı, Düzce fındık sektörünün rekabet gücünü Porter’ın “Elmas Modeli” aracılığıyla ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Buna bağlı olarak veriler görüşme tekniği kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın evreni, Düzce’de fındık sektöründe ön plana çıkan oyunculardan (Ziraat Odaları, Ticaret Borsası, Düzce Üniversitesi, Ticaret Odası, Tarım Kredi Kooperatifleri, Fiskobirlik ve Fındık İşletmeleri) oluşmaktadır. 30 kişi ile görüşülmesi planlanmış ancak 24 kişi ile görüşme yapılarak veriler elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda modeldeki her bir faktör için ortaya çıkan sonuçlar; girdi koşulları orta düzeyde, talep koşulları orta-yüksek düzeyde, firma stratejisi ve rekabet yapısı çok düşük-düşük düzeyde, ilgili ve destekleyici kuruluşlar orta düzeyde, devlet faktörü düşük-orta ve şans faktörü yüksek düzeyde rekabet gücüne sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Genel anlamda değerlendirildiğinde ise Düzce fındık sektörü rekabet gücünün orta düzeye yakın bir yapıya sahip olduğu ancak sektördeki değişken unsurların (iklim, fiyat politikası, yeni üretim alanları, yeni rakipler) etkilerine yönelik bir tedbir alınmadığı takdirde rekabet gücünün düşük düzeye doğru yönleneceği öngörülmektedir.
