dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study and its contribution to literature is to analyze the impact of US presidential doctrines on international security within the scope of securitization theory, through the example of the Bush Doctrine. The reason for using securitization theory is that the formation and implementation of US presidential doctrines are sufficiently explained by this theory. High priority issues that are securitized and brought to the level of threat and require action are gradually established as legitimate grounds in the eyes of domestic and foreign public opinion. The most important finding of the study is that presidential doctrines have a very important place in the background of the strong foreign policy of the United States. As a result, from the perspective of securitization theory, it has been understood that the presidential doctrines in the US Foreign Policy have brought about major changes in international security, as in the example of the Bush Doctrine. It has been determined that the US has dragged international security into great chaos after the Bush Doctrine and that its securitization policies towards Iraq and Afghanistan have failed.en_US
dc.description.abstractBu çalışmanın amacı ve literatüre katkısı, güvenlikleştirme teorisi kapsamında ABD başkanlık doktrinlerinin uluslararası güvenliğe etkisinin, Bush Doktrini örneği üzerinden analiz edilmesidir. Güvenlikleştirme teorisinin kullanılmasının nedeni; ABD başkanlık doktrinlerinin oluşumunun ve uygulanmasının, bu teori tarafından yeterince açıklanıyor olmasıdır. Başkanlık doktrinleri ile güvenlikleştirilip tehdit seviyesine çıkarılan ve eylem gerektiren yüksek öncelikli konuların, iç ve dış kamuoyu nezdinde zamanla meşru zemini oluşturulmaktadır. Çalışmanın en önemli bulgusu, ABD’nin güçlü dış politikasının arka planında başkanlık doktrinlerinin çok önemli bir yeri bulunduğudur. Sonuç olarak güvenlikleştirme teorisi perspektifinden ABD Dış Politikasında yer alan başkanlık doktrinlerinin, Bush Doktrini örneğinde de olduğu gibi, uluslararası güvenlikte büyük değişimler meydana getirdiği anlaşılmıştır. Bush Doktrini sonrasında ABD’nin uluslararası güvenliği büyük bir kaosa sürüklediği, Irak ve Afganistan’a yönelik güvenlikleştirme politikalarının başarısız olduğu tespit edilmiştir.en_US
