Sustainable or green bachining is a strategy to achieve overall sustainability in manufacturing including machining. This chapter reports some case studies focused on sustainable machining of various difficult-to-machine (DTM) materials. Ecological cooling/lubrication methods for sustainable machining can be listed as dry, minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) machining, nanofluid added MQL (NanoMQL), hybrid nanofluid machining, cryogenic cooling machining, and hybrid cooling/lubrication machining. Hybridization of cooling and lubrication is gaining more importance in machining sector these days. It is found that sustainable machining strategies and inherent techniques are beneficial not only for environmental sustainability but machinability as well that leads to economical and societal sustainability. Many such important aspects related to sustainable machining and its impact are discussed in this chapter. © 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.en_US
