Özet
The two main forms of corrosion in oilfield development and transport industries are sweet corrosion and sour corrosion. Sweet corrosion in the presence of CO2 gas is a mild form of corrosion and sour corrosion is an extremely severe type of corrosion that occurs in the presence of H2S gas. Corrosion of metallic structures has been recognized as an important problem in oilfields in the presence of these gases. The topics in this chapter will be limited to the factors causing sweet and sour corrosion as well as the corrosion inhibitor-based mitigation techniques. © 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
