Abstract
Bu çalışma İran’ın nükleer enerji politikasını ve yansımalarını ortaya koymaktadır. İran, barışçıl amaçlarla nükleer enerji ürettiğini iddia etse de Batılı güçler bu iddiayı inandırıcı bulmamaktadır. Çalışmada İran’ın nükleer enerji üretmesine yönelik tutumunun, sadece enerji kaynaklı olmadığı, Batılı güçlerle geçmişte yaşadığı sorunların ve çıkar çatışmalarının da sorunun diğer boyutlarını oluşturduğu savunulmuştur. Sorunun kısa vadede çözülmesinin ya da sıcak çatışmaya dönüşmesinin beklenmediği ancak bölgesel tansiyonu her zaman yükseltme potansiyeline sahip olduğu ve güncel gelişmelerin de sorunu tetikleyebileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
This study examines Iran’s nuclear energy policy and its implications. Although Iran claims to produce nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, this claim does not convince the Western powers. This article argues that Iran’s nuclear energy policy is not solely designed for energy production it also has a different dimension stemming from Iran’s conflicts with the West. It is not expected that the problem in the short term would escalate into a war, but it has the potential of increasing the regional tension.
