dc.description.abstractÖzAmerikan sinemasının önemli yaratıcılarından biri olan Terrence Malick, odağına aldığı meselelerin felsefi bağlantısı ve derinlik seviyesi ile kendine özgü biçimsel tercihleri sayesinde çağdaşlarından ayrılmaktadır. Klasik anlatı sinemasının yarattığı izleme alışkanlıklarının oldukça dışında, algılanarak deneyimlenen ve hatta sezinlenen filmler üreten Malick, pek çok açıdan deneysel türü ile dirsek teması içinde bir filmografiye sahiptir. Hatta öyle ki, -bu sebepten ötürü- Terrence Malick filmlerini bir çeşit deneyim alanı olarak görmek de mümkündür. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Terrence Malick’in filmlerinde bir deneyim alanı yarattığı önermesini, Gilles Deleuze’ün sinema taksonomisinin alt-kavramlarından biri olan algı-imge ve algı-imgenin deneysel türü ile ilişkisi temelinde araştırmak ve deneyim alanı yaratımında ortaya çıkan biçim-içerik kaynaşması durumunu tanımlayarak yönetmenin örneklem olarak seçilen 2015 yapımlı filmi Knight of Cups’ta göstermektir. Çalışmada, Terrence Malick filmlerinin ne derece deneysel olduğu, deneysel türüne dair -Deleuze’ün ifade ettiği- algısallık ve algı-imge temelli unsurların deneyim alanı yaratmada nasıl kullanıldığı, biçim-içerik kaynaşmasının nasıl gerçekleştiği ve bunun deneyim alanı ile ilişkisi irdelenecektir. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgular ise Malick sinemasının deneysel türüne ait unsurlar içerdiği, algı-imgenin deneysel türüyle ilişkisi temelinde algıyı saflaştırdığı, şiir sineması çıktılarıyla benzerlikler taşıyarak salt bir algılanım sunduğu ve bunun sonucunda biçimle içeriğin kaynaştığı algılanım temelli bir deneyim alanı inşa ettiğidir.
dc.description.abstractTerrence Malick, one of the most important creators of American cinema, is distinguished from his contemporaries by the philosophical and profound issues he focuses on and his unique stylistic preferences. Malick, who produces films that are perceived, experienced and even 'intuited' quite outside the viewing habits created by classical narrative cinema, has a filmography that is in elbow contact with the experimental genre in many respects. It is even possible - for this reason - to see Terrence Malick's films as a kind of 'field of experience'. The aim of this study is to investigate the proposition that Terrence Malick creates a 'field of experience' in his films on the basis of 'perception-image', one of the sub-concepts of Gilles Deleuze's taxonomy of cinema, and the relationship of 'perception-image' with the experimental genre, and to define the situation of form-content fusion that emerges in the creation of 'field of experience' and to demonstrate it in the director's film Knight of Cups (2015), which was selected as the sample. The study will examine to what extent Terrence Malick's films are 'experimental', how the perceptuality and perception-image based elements of the experimental genre - as expressed by Deleuze - are used to create an 'experience space', how form-content fusion takes place and its relationship with the 'experience space'.
