dc.description.abstractIn this study, we attempted to describe the collocation errors found in the sentences of middle school students during vocabulary teaching activities in Turkish textbooks. For this purpose, the research was designed as a case study. The participants were consisted of 100 students attending a middle school. In order to collect data, the participants were asked to write sentences about the targeted words for four weeks in accordance with the vocabulary teaching activities in the Turkish textbooks. The sentences written by the students were analyzed in terms of collocation errors. The results of the study revealed that middle school students could not use the collocational vocabulary of their mother tongue sufficiently for the targeted words. Thus, they made structural and lexical collocation errors when using borrowed words in Turkish from foreign languages or Turkish words that are not used frequently and widely nowadays. Furthermore, it was observed that there was no collocation awareness in the vocabulary teaching activities in the mother tongue textbooks. Hence, we suggest that the target words should be handled and taught together with its collocations in the text, and a collocational method should be adopted in teaching vocabulary in the mother tongue.en_US
dc.description.abstractBu araştırmada ortaokul öğrencilerinin Türkçe ders kitaplarındaki sözcük öğretimi etkinlikleri sırasında kurdukları cümlelerde bulunan eşdizim hatalarının betimlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla araştırma, nitel araştırma desenlerinden biri olan durum çalışmasına göre desenlenmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu ortaokula devam eden 100 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmaya veri toplamak için Türkçe ders kitaplarında bulunan sözcük öğretimi etkinliklerine uygun olarak çalışma grubundaki öğrencilere öğretimi hedeflenen sözcüklerle ilgili dört hafta boyunca cümleler yazdırılmıştır. Öğrencilerin yazdığı bu cümleler eşdizim hataları yönünden incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; ortaokul öğrencilerinin öğretimi hedeflenen sözcüklerle ilgili ana dillerine ait eşdizimsel söz varlıklarını yeterince kullanamadıkları; özellikle öğrencilerin yabancı kökenli sözcükleri veya sık ve yaygın bir şekilde kullanılmayan Türkçe sözcükleri kullanırken yapısal ve sözcüksel eşdizim hataları yaptıkları belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte öğrencilerin bazen de hedef sözcükle ilgili bir cümle yazamadıkları belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca ana dili ders kitaplarındaki sözcük öğretimi etkinliklerinde eşdizim farkındalığının bulunmadığı, seçilen hedef sözcüklerin eşdizimlerinden bağımsız olarak ele alındığı görülmüştür. Bu sonuçlara göre yeni karşılaşılan bir sözcükle ilgili eşdizim özelliklerini bilmenin zorluklarını öğrencilerin aşması için hedef sözcük metindeki eşdizimleriyle birlikte ele alınıp öğretime konu edilmeli, ana dilde sözcük öğretiminde eşdizimsel bir yöntem benimsenmelidir.en_US
