Öğe Aspirin Use in Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion in Diabetic and Hypertensive Patients(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2013) Tunç, Murat; Yüksel, Harun; Önder, Elif; Kaya, Murat; Onder, Halil İbrahimPurpose: The aim was to investigate whether aspirin use is a risk factor in Branch retinal veinocclusion in hypertensive and diabetic patients.Materials and Methods: The study included 30 hypertensive patients who were diagnosedbranch retinal vein occlusion. Visual acuity, width of retinal hemorrhages, macular edema andretinal neovascularization were compared between aspirin using and non-using patients. Results: Of the 30 cases, 18 were using aspirin, 12 were not. Visual acuity less than 0.1 wasobserved in 10 of 18 aspirin using patients and 3 of 12 non-using patients (p = 0.09). There wasno correlation between visual acuity and wide of retinal hemorrhage. Conclusion: The use of aspirin in patients with well controlled hypertension and diabetes maypositively effect the visual outcomeÖğe Assessment of Central Corneal Thickness, Intraocular Pressure and Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Thickness at Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome(Duzce Univ, 2017) Teberik, Kuddusi; Sağlam, Hakan; Başbuğ, Alper; Karaaslan, Musa; Kaya, Murat; Sungur, Mehmet AliObjective: To compare intraocular pressure, central cornea thickness, anterior chamber depth, axial length and thickness of retina nerve fiber layer between women with polycystic ovary syndrome and healthy at the same age segment. Methods: Between August 2015-January 2016, 46 women who have polycystic ovary syndrome and 53 healthy women have been included to the study. After a complete ophthalmologic examination, intraocular pressure, central cornea thickness, anterior chamber depth, axial length and retinal nerve fiber layer thickness were investigated. In the statistical analysis of the data, Independent Samples t test was utilized to compare the groups. Results: While mean age was 23.4 +/- 4.5 (16-35) in the group with polycystic ovary syndrome, average age level was found as 24.0 +/- 6.1 (18-54) among the controls (P=0.549). Intraocular pressure values were measured and determined as 17.7 +/- 2.6 mmHg in the group with polycystic ovary syndrome, while the values were 15.2 +/- 2.4 mmHg in the controls (P <0,001). Although it was 79.4 +/- 10.2 mu m in the group with polycystic ovary syndrome, retinal nerve fiber layer thickness in the nasal quadrant was found to be 73.8 +/- 10.9 mu m among the controls (P <0.001). Conclusion: We found that the increased levels seen in intraocular pressure and retinal nerve fiber layer thickness in the nasal quadrants of the patients with polycystic ovary syndrome were statistically significance. Hence, we recommend that the patients with polycystic ovary syndrome should be specially analyzed as to eye assessment.Öğe Association of Pericentric Inv(12)(p11.2q14) with Infertility and Recurrent Miscarriages: Case Report and Literature Review(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2019) Kaya, Murat; Karataş, Ömer FarukInfertility, reported in 15% of the couples who want to have children, is an important worldwide health problem. Recurrent miscarriage, observed in 15–25% of pregnancies, is another important health issue affecting millions of couples in the world. Despite many genetic factors have been associated with infertility or recurrent miscarriages especially in recent years, the genetic and epigenetic factors underlying these problems are mostly unknown. Most of the pericentric inversions do not affect phenotypes of the individuals carrying balanced rearrangements. However, the pericentric inversions may cause chromosomally unbalanced sperm/ovum during the meiotic crossover leading to infertility or recurrent miscarriages. In this case report, we report a familial pericentric inv(12)(p11.2q14) in eight individuals with infertility or recurrent miscarriages in three different families.Öğe Associations of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level with central corneal and macular thickness in diabetic patients without macular edema(2018) Teberik, Kuddusi; Eski, Mehmet Tahir; Kaya, MuratObjectives: To determine the correlation between central corneal thickness (CCT) and central macularthickness (CMT), and fasting plasma glucose levels and HbA1c levels before diabetic macular edema (DME)in type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) patients without diabetic retinopathy. Methods: Forty-four eyes of subjects diagnosed with type 2 DM, and 45 healthy control subjects participatedin this study. Detailed ophthalmologic examination was performed with all participants. CMT was measuredin both groups by Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography. CCT measurements were made with anEchoscan US-500 ultrasonic pachymeter. Blood biochemical tests for glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and fastingplasma glucose levels were run on all patients. Results: The results of the study showed that the mean CCT was significantly thicker in type 2 DM patients563.84 33.25 ?m than in the controls 550.13 28.41 ?m (p 0.039). The mean of CMT was 231.27 37.74?m in the study group and 225.38 38.33 ?m in the control group (p 0.05). No relationship was foundbetween CCT and CMT and HbA1c level in the study and control groups. Conclusions: The mean CCT was significantly thicker in type 2 DM patients without diabetic retinopathy thanin the controls. The mean CMT is thicker in type 2 DM patients without diabetic retinopathy patients than inthe controls, but this difference was not statistically significant. Optical coherence tomography can be a perfectdetector for early detection of DME.Öğe Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion Associated with Tamoxifen Use(Informa Healthcare, 2013) Önder, Halil İbrahim; Kılıç, Ali Çağrı; Köse, Seyit Ali; Karataş, Ahmet; Kaya, Ertuğrul; Kaya, Murat; Tunç, MuratTamoxifen is a selective estrogen receptor modulator widely used in the treatment of hormone-responsive breast cancer. Tamoxifen-induced ocular complications are very rare. A post-menopausal woman with carcinoma of the left breast had presented with sudden loss of vision. The patient had been on tamoxifen therapy 20 mg daily for the last three years. Fundus examination showed left branch retinal vein occlusion. Fluorescein angiography and optical coherence tomography confirmed the diagnosis. Tamoxifen therapy was discontinued. In particular, subcarinal cysts can be life-threatening and compromise the airways. In infants, the initial presentation may be respiratory distress. We report a case of mediastinal cystic mass compressing the main left bronchus. The case was an 18-month-old boy who had been admitted with acute respiratory distress. Chest x-ray showed overdistension of the left lung and a mediastinal shift. Foreign body aspiration was diagnosed. Magnetic resonance imaging was performed, which has shown a mediastinal cystic mass; therefore, the patient underwent thoracotomy. Surgical intervention revealed a subcarinal extrapulmonary BC that compresses the left main bronchus. The diagnosis of BC was confirmed with pathological investigation. In this report, we present a case of BC with the emphasis on the differential diagnosis with foreign body aspiration.Öğe A case of isolated thrombocytopenia due to cobalamin deficiency(Springer Japan Kk, 2011) Okur, Mesut; Özkan, Aybars; Güneş, Cemalettin; Kaya, Murat; Kocabay, KenanThe most common form of isolated thrombocytopenia is idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) in childhood. Hence, pediatricians consider a possible diagnosis of ITP in patients with isolated thrombocytopenia who are admitted to hospital with complaints of skin findings such as petechiae, purpura, and ecchymosis. It is well known that cobalamin deficiency may also cause thrombocytopenia together with anemia and leukopenia in children. However, isolated thrombocytopenia due to cobalamin deficiency has rarely been reported in literature. In this case report, we present a 7-year-old female patient with isolated thrombocytopenia that was improved by cyanocobalamin therapy.Öğe A child with deep face burn caused by chafing fuel(Kare Publishing, 2013) Özkan, Aybars; Katrancı, Ali Osman; Okur, Mesut; Kaya, Murat; Küçük, Adem[No abstract available]Öğe Clinical Approach to Patients with Klippel-Feil Syndrome(2021) Kaya, Murat; Kabaklıoğlu, Murat; Eröz, RecepObjective: Klippel-Feil Syndrome (KFS) is a congenital syndrome that have short neck, fusion in the at least 2 cervical vertebrae and decrease in neck movements in the classic triad. KFS patients may have higher risk for mechanical spinal cord injury because of unstable cervical segments. Patients should be examined extensively, since many anomalies may accompany KFS. In the current article, we aimed to present our cases with KFS with clinical, radiological and genetic results. Methods: In this study, a total of 317 cervical MRIs required by Pediatric Surgery between 2012-2019 years with various indications and 90 cervical CT reports in 2019 were evaluated. Information was collected retrospectively with a file scan. Clinical, radiological, biochemical and genetic evaluation of KFS cases were performed. Results: All of our patients with KFS had Sprengel deformity, cervical fusion anomaly, restricted neck movements, short neck, low hairline and growth retardation. Growth Differentiating Factor 6 (GDF6) gene was negative in all our patients. Conclusions: The necessity of treatment depends more on the pathologies that may be caused by deformity and other systemic findings. The patient should be cautious and avoid heavy exercise because of neurological deficits seen after minor trauma in patients with KFS.Öğe Clinical Characteristics of Cases Developing Neonatal Pneumothorax: 10 Years of Experience(Tıbbi Kayıtlar Derneği, 2025) Kurt, Fatih; Kaya, Abdulkadir; Kocabay, Kenan; Kaya, MuratAim: Pneumothorax is a serious emergency condition that increases mortality and morbidity due to the accumulation of air between the visceral and parietal pleura layers. Neonatal pneumothorax is more frequently encountered in neonates admitted to neonatal intensive care units. It is known that the most important risk factors are prematurity and ventilation with a bag mask. Material and Method: Forty-two pneumothorax cases followed in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) were included in our study. The characteristics, risk factors, treatment methods and prognoses of the cases were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Twenty eight of the cases (66.67%) were male, and Pneumothorax developed within the first 3 days of life in 41 cases (97.61%). Nineteen cases (45.24%) were premature, 16 cases (38.10%) underwent resuscitation at birth, and 15 cases (35.71%) received surfactant therapy. An intercostal chest tube was placed for treatment in 34 cases (80.95%), and invasive mechanical ventilation was required in 33 cases (78.57%). Thirty six cases (85.71%) were regained the health, while those who passed away were found to be more premature. Conclusion: In our study, prematurity, resuscitation at birth, and surfactant therapy were identified as risk factors for neonatal pneumothorax. Newborns with these risk factors should be closely monitored, and neonatal pneumothorax should be kept in mind if respiratory distress develops.Öğe Comparison of Angiocatheter and Thorax Tube in the Treatment of Pneumothorax in Newborn Patients(2021) Kabaklıoğlu, Murat; Kaya, MuratAim: In pneumothorax, which is one of the life-threatening emergencies, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment areimportant to reduce complications and mortality. Treatment is provided by evacuation of air from the pleural space withunderwater drainage using needle thoracentesis or fine catheter and tube thoracostomy techniques.Material and Methods: Between March 2014 and March 2021, neonatal intensive care unit medical records wereretrospectively reviewed, and newborns with pneumothorax were evaluated. Information about drainage methods, duration of treatment, efficacy of treatment and complications were obtained. The patients were divided into twogroups. A chest tube was placed in the patients in the first group, and a venous catheter was placed in the patients in thesecond group. Results: Pneumothorax was detected in 1.85% (n:23) of 1242 patients in our neonatal intensive care unit. Eight patientsunderwent tube thoracostomy and 12 patients underwent underwater sealed drainage with venous catheter, while threepatients resolved spontaneously. Conclusion: Tube thoracostomy in neonatal pneumothorax may lead to serious complications especially in extremelypremature babies. It is not possible for someone who does not have experience in this field to do this operation. Inaddition, since the surgical procedure requires a certain period of time, the patient may worsen during the procedure. Inorder to eliminate the disadvantages of tube thoracostomy, it is possible to evacuate the air in the pleural space with asimple method, especially in the treatment of neonatal pneumothorax by using a branula.Öğe Comparison of central corneal thickness with four different optical devices(Springer, 2018) Teberik, Kuddusi; Eski, Mehmet Tahir; Kaya, Murat; Ankaralı, HandanBackgroundTo compare the consistency between the average scores of the contact central corneal thickness measurements from ultrasound pachymetry devices still gold standard, such as iPac((R)) and Echoscan US-500, and noncontact measurements via Pentacam HR and Sirius topography.MethodsThis prospective study, subsequently admitted to the ophthalmology department, 76 healthy individuals were performed. The measurements were repeated three times for each eye, and average scores were statistically analyzed on the same day and almost at the same time. While measuring the eyes, Pentacam HR, Sirius topography, iPac((R)), and Echoscan US-500 were used, respectively. The inter-rater agreement of measurements from the devices was assessed with intraclass correlation coefficient, and 95% Confidence Interval and p values demonstrating statistically significance were also presented. In the graphical assessment of the agreement, the Bland-Altman graph was used.ResultsAmong 76 study participants, 43 (56.6%) were composed of women, and age level was 38.612.5years, ranging between 18 and 69. It was observed that the highest agreement was between the measurements obtained from Echoscan US-500 and iPac((R)) devices, but the agreement between the measurements of different devices was higher than 0.90. Bland-Altman graphics were also investigated; the results of four different devices were seen to be consistent with one another.ConclusionsTherefore, the devices we compared in the study can be used as alternatives to one another due to the higher consistency between CCT measurements provided with through UP devices of Echoscan US-500 and iPac((R)), and Pentacam HR and Sirius topography devices. p id= Par5 Clinical Trial Registration number: 2016/112Öğe Comparison of Single Incision Laparoscopic and Classic Stamm Gastrostomy Methods in Children(2020) Kabaklıoğlu, Murat; Kaya, MuratAim: The aim of this study was to compare single incision laparoscopic gastrostomy (SILG)with open surgery in children.Material and Methods: Children who underwent laparoscopic and open gastrostomysurgeries between January 2016 and March 2020 were retrospectively evaluated. The datawere arranged according to the patient's demographics, duration of surgery and anesthesia, time to start enteral feeding, and complications. For Stamm procedure, the abdomen wasexplored with an upper midline incision and a gastric tube was passed through a secondincision. In the SILG method, only one incision was made. After inserting a camera was placedinto a trocar, then a grasper was placed just next to the trocar. A part of stomach was removedthrough the incision. A foley catheter was placed visually into the lumen. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between operation times for bothsurgical groups (p=0.844); the same was true for anesthesia times (p=0.919). The time takento initiate and reach full enteral nutrition differed significantly between two groups (p=0.005).In general, when all complications were evaluated, more complications were found in the opensurgery group (p=0.077). A remarkable number of maintenance problems (65.6%) wereobserved in both groups. Conclusion: SILG is a technique that is not technically demanding and can be performed byany pediatric surgeon with experience in laparoscopy. Primary laparoscopic gastrostomy at thetrocar insertion site can be performed easily and safely in all children with malnutrition due tolow postoperative complication rates and applicable for all ages of children.Öğe Comparison of Tension Band Wiring Method Applied with K-wire or Cannulated Screw in Mayo 2A Olecranon Fracture Fixation: A Biomechanical Study(2022) Ertem, Fatih; Kaya, MuratAim: The study aimed to compare the biomechanical stability and strength of the tension band wiring method used to treat mayo 2A olecranon fractures with Kirschner (K)-wire or cannulated screw configurations. Material and Methods: A total of 24 anatomical ulna models (Sawbones Model 1004, Pacific Research Laboratories, Vashon Island, WA) used in the study were divided into two equal groups of 12, tension band fixation with K-wire (Group 1) and tension band fixation with cannulated screw (Group 2), and groups were compared. The mechanical comparison was performed with a universal measuring machine (Shimadzu Autograph 50 kN; Shimadzu Corp). Results: Fixation methods comparison (K-wire/cannulated screw) were the main factors that determined the stability and the strength of the internal fixation. The median flexion strength of Group 1 was 107.92 (range, 94.22-121.72) N, and that of Group 2 was 109.67 (range, 105.07-113.86) N. The median varus strength of Group 1 was 100.02 (range, 83.24-102.18) N, and that of Group 2 was 76.32 (range, 68.44-78.43) N. Varus strength and stiffness were significantly higher in the K-wire group than in the cannulated screw group (both p values were <0.001). No significant differences were detected between the groups regarding flexion strength and stiffness (both p values were 0.999). Conclusion: Although no significant differences were detected between the two fixations in flexion bending cyclic loading, a significantly more stable fixation was achieved in tension banding applied with K-wire in varus bending cyclic loading. No reduction loss was detected during cyclic loading tests in either technique.Öğe A Comparison of Three Different Photoscreeners in Children(Slack Inc, 2018) Teberik, Kuddusi; Eski, Mehmet Tahir; Kaya, Murat; Ankaralı, HandanPurpose: To compare the results obtained from three non-cycloplegic handheld photorefractometers with cycloplegic autorefractometry (Topcon KR-8100; Topcon Corporation, Tokyo, Japan) measurement in children. Methods: The refractive status of 238 eyes in 119 healthy children was assessed. The values acquired using photorefraction with the non-cycloplegic PlusoptiX A12 (Plusoptix GmbH, Nuremberg, Germany), Retinomax K-plus 3 (Righton, Tokyo, Japan), and Spot Vision Screener (Welch Allyn, Skaneateles Falls, NY) devices were compared with those obtained from the cycloplegic Topcon KR-8100. The agreement between the measurements was assessed using the intraclass correlation coefficient. Results: The mean age was 10.1 +/- 3.2 years (range: 6 to 17 years). The mean spherical value for the right eyes was 0.38 diopters (D) (range: -4.50 to 6.25 D) for the Plusoptix A12; 0.45 D (range: -4.50 to 6.25 D) for the Spot Vision Screener; -1.15 D (range: -8.75 to 6.50 D) for the Retinomax K-plus 3; and 0.62 (range: -4.50 to 6.00) for the Topcon KR-8100. The mean spherical equivalent value for the right eyes was 0.41 D (range: -4.50 to 7.90 D) for the Plusoptix A12; 0.18 D (range: -4.75 to 6.13 D) for the Spot Vision Screener; -1.30 D (range: -10.50 to 6.38 D) for the Retinomax K-plus 3; and 0.67 D (range: -4.00 to 6.00 D) for the Topcon KR-8100 (for the right eyes). Conclusions: The photorefractometer method was beneficial in the measurement of refractive errors of school-aged children. The PlusoptiX A12 photorefractometer method may eliminate the need for cycloplegia in the detection of refractive errors in children.Öğe Do gastrointestinal and respiratory signs and symptoms correlate with the severity of gastroesophageal reflux?(2012) Uzun, Hakan; Alagöz, Demet; Okur, Mesut; Dikici, Bünyamin; Kocabay, Kenan; Şenses, Dursun Ali; Kaya, MuratBackground: Gastroesophageal reflux (GER) is a disorder that is common by seen in childhood and may lead to severe complications. In this study, we ascertained the incidence of GER among the children who had typical and atypical complaints of GER and whether there was a difference between two groups comparing the findings of 24-hour pH-meter.Methods: 39 out of 70 patients with typical and atypical GER symptoms were diagnosed as GER by 24-hour pH-meter monitoring. The patients were divided into three groups, those having gastrointestinal complaints, those having respiratory complaints and those having both gastrointestinal and respiratory symptoms. Results: Evaluated the GER prevalence in these groups, it was found to be 60% in the gastrointestinal group, 48.6% in the respiratory group and 75% in the mixed group. When pH-meter measurements of GER positive patients were compared within the clinical groups, the fraction of time that pH was lower than 4 was found to be significantly higher in the mixed group (p = 0.004).Conclusions: The coexistence of gastrointestinal and respiratory symptoms in the patients with GER may be related to the severe reflux. © 2012 Uzun et al; licensee BioMed Central Ltd.Öğe An easy technique for removal of knotted catheter in the bladder: percutaneous suprapubic cystoscopic intervention(E-Century Publishing Corp, 2013) Özkan, Aybars; Okur, Mesut; Kaya, Murat; Büyükkaya, Ramazan; Katrancı, Ali Osman; Küçük, AdemUncontaminated urine samples are indispensable to precisely diagnose urinary tract infections in newborns or infants. Among many clinical interventions for urine collection are described, the most common noninvasive practice is using sterile bags, associated with significant contamination of samples. In children, however, invasive methods i.e. catheterization, are generally needed for reliable urine specimens. Almost always all the inserted catheters are easily drawn back, nevertheless, might not work as expected, and lead to considerable problems that cannot be overcome. Herein, a case of a female newborn treated with a successful percutaneous suprapubic cystoscopic procedure for extracting knotted urinary catheter in the bladder is presented. The least invasive and easiest technic is suggested to be used when catheter is knotted in the bladder, as elaborately stated.Öğe Effect of combined anti-inflammatory and antioxidant therapy on ischemia-reperfusion injury in rat ovary: an experimental study(E-Century Publishing Corp, 2016) Kaya, Murat; Özkan, Aybars; Eröz, Recep; Soyer, Tutku; Kabaklıoğlu, Murat; Oktay, Murat; Küçük, AdemAn experiemental study was performed to evaluate the effect of combined anti-inflammatory and antioxidant theraphy on ischemia-reperfusion injury in rat ovary. Also the results of combined theraphy is aimed to compared with monotherapy. Fifty-four female Wistar rats were randomly divided into 9 equal groups (n=6). In Sham group right ovaries of the rats were sampled without generating ischemia and reperfusion injury via median laparatomy. Ischemia/Reperfusion (I/R) was performed by clamping the vascular supply of right ovary for 3 hours (I/R 1 group) and 6 hours (I/R 2 group), respectively. After one hour reperfusion, rats recieved 20 mg/kg Methylprednisolone (Pred 1; 3 hours ischemia and Pred 2; 6 hours ischemia) and 50 mg/kg Vitamin C (Vit C 1; 3 hours ischemia and Vit C 2; 6 hours ischemia). The combined therapy groups (Pred+Vit C 1 and Pred+Vit C 2) were adminstered same doses of both Methylprednisolone and Vitamin C. Rats were sacrifed after 24 hours of reperfusion and ovarian tissues were sampled for oxidative markers [malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx)] biochemically. Histopathological findings of inflammation (follicular cell degeneration, vascular congestion, hemorrhage and infiltration by inflammatory cells) were also evaluated with an injury score grading normal findings to severe injury (Grade 0 to 3). The results were compared among groups. Mean levels of antioxidant enzymes and histopathologic grades showed significant difference among groups (P<0.05). MDA and CAT levels were lower in Pred+Vit C 1 than Pred 1, Vit C 1 and I/R 1 (P<0.05). SOD and CAT levels were lower in Pred+Vit C 2 than Pred 2 and I/R 2. Total injury scores were lower in Pred+Vit C 1 and Pred+Vit C 2 than I/R 1 and I/R 2 (P<0.05). The combined treatment of anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory theraphy reduces the biochemical and histopathologic findings of I/R injury in rat ovary. These results are significantly comparable with the effect of monotheraphy.Öğe The Effects of Long-term Growth Hormone Treatment on Ocular Findings(Georg Thieme Verlag Kg, 2023) Eski, Mehmet Tahir; Teberik, Kuddusi; Bolu, Semih; Ankarali, Handan; Kaya, Murat; Arslanoglu, IlknurPurpose This study aimed to examine the long-term changes in anterior chamber depth (ACD), central corneal thickness (CCT), axial length (AxL), peripapillary retinal nerve fibre layer thickness (RNFLT), peripapillary ganglion cell layer - inner plexiform layer (GCL-IPL) thickness, and peripapillary choroidal thickness (ChT) after rhGH replacement treatment in paediatric patients with IGHD, compared to healthy controls. Methods Twenty-two children with IGHD including 12 girls and 10 boys were enrolled in the study group, and 30 (16 girls, 14 boys) healthy children composed the control group. A detailed ophthalmological examination was performed for each participant. ACD, CCT, AxL, peripapillary RNFLT, GCL-IPL thickness and ChT measurements were performed before the rhGH replacement treatment and in the 12th month of the post-treatment period, as well as the corresponding visits in the control group. AxL ultrasound pachymetry (CCT), peripapillary RNFL thickness, peripapillary RNFLT, GCL-IPL thickness, and peripapillary ChT parameters were measured by spectral-domain optical coherence tomography. Results The mean age of the groups were similar (p = 0.143). 12-month CCT, ACD, and AxL measurements of the study group showed significantly higher results than the pre-treatment measurements (p = 0.005, p = 0.024, and p = 0.002, respectively). Similarly, the mean RNFLT and ChT measurements of the study group obtained from all sectors were significantly higher in the 12th-month visit (p < 0.001 for both) other than the RNFLT, and GCL-IPL thickness measurements (p > 0.05 for all). However, all these parameters were similar at pre- and post-treatment visits in the control group (p > 0.05 for all). The mean pre-treatment values of all these parameters were significantly lower in the study group compared to the control group (p < 0.05 for all), other than the RNFLT, GCL-IPL thickness measurements (p > 0.05 for all), while the mean post-treatment values of all these parameters in both groups were similar at month 12 (p > 0.05 for all). Conclusion GH replacement treatment in childhood may play an important role in the development of the neural retina and can be effective on the anterior segment, RNFLT and ChT measurements.
