These complexes were characterized by elemental analyses and IR spectroscopy. Crystals of one of these complexes [CumppClN(3) (VII)] were prepared in suitable size, and a molecular structure of this complex was obtained with X-ray diffraction method. Complexes were examined by thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry methods. Thermal decomposition was observed in complexes including two azide groups similar to that seen in explosives. In the complexes containing one azide group, formation of the Cu-1 complexes was observed after thermal decomposition of the azide group.Öğe Structure and thermal decomposition of mu-1,1-azido bridged dinuclear Fe(III) complexes(Oldenbourg Verlag, 2007) Ercan, Filiz; Ateş, B. Meltem; Aksu, Levent; Sözeri, Hüseyin; Ercan, İsmail; Atakol, OrhanFe(III) complexes were prepared by the reaction of two different ONNO type Schiff bases N,N'-bis (salicylidene)-1,3-propanediamine (LH2) and N,N'-bis (salicylidene)-2,2'-dimethyl-1,3-propane diamine (LDMH2) in N-3(-) containing medium. The X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the complexes are of dinuclear type connected with mu-1,1-azido bridges. It was observed from the thermogravimetric analyses of the complexes that the azide group decomposed around 200 degrees C with exothermic reaction. This exothermic decomposition did not affect the rest of the molecule. Following the decomposition of the azide group the remainder of the molecule decomposed with carbonization process. It was seen that the molecule decomposed into Fe2O3 above 650 degrees C in oxygen containing medium. [FeLDMN3](2) complex was found to have N4O2 distorted octahedral sphere with Fe...Fe distance of 3.414 angstrom.Öğe Synthesis, crystal structure, chromatographic seperation, and thermogravimetric investigation of a ONNO type asymmetric Schiff base and its trinuclear complexes(Pleiades Publishing Inc, 2014) Öz, Sevi; Ergun, Ümit; Yakut, Mehtap; Svoboda, Ingrid; Atakol, Arda; İnal, Kübra; Atakol, Orhan1,3-Propanediamine was put to react with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 2-hydroxyacetophenone sequentially in aprotic medium. The crystalline product was examined by high performance liquid chromatography. The composition was 66% asymmetric Schiff base N(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-N'(2-hydroxyacetophenone)-1,3-propanediamine (SALLACH(2)) and 33% bis-N,N'(2-hydroxyacetophenylidene)-1,3-propanediamine (LACH2). As the crystals were uniform and of appropriate size, the molecular model of the material was revealed by X-ray diffraction. It was seen that two molecules of SALLACH(2) and one molecule of LACH(2) formed the mixed crystals. The substance was separated to its components and the asymmetric Schiff base was purified with a silica column. The substance was characterized with elemental analysis, FT-IR, MS, (HNMR)-H-1, and C-13 NMR. In addition, six tri-nuclear complex with the nuclear structure of Ni-II-Ni-II-Ni-II, Ni-II-Cu-II-Ni-II, Ni-II-Mn-II-Ni-II were prepared from this Schiff base and stoichiometry was determined by elemental analysis, FT-IR and thermogravimetry.
