DEIS measurements at OCP for ten hours were determined for CMA in artificial seawater without inhibitor and with 0.01 M, 0.0134 M, 0.0201 M and 0.0268 M BTA. Change of the charge transfer resistance (R ct) by time was determined from the electrical parameters of equivalent circuit. It was found that Rct values remained of approximately a constant level during last 5 hours almost every BTA concentration. The determined Rct values were compared with the polarization resistance (R p) values obtained from LP and TP methods. Satisfactory agreement was obtained between LP and TP methods while Rct values determined by DEIS method are considerably lower. Corrosion measurement results obtained from DEIS, LP and TP methods shows that corrosion rates were decreasing with the increase of BTA concentration. This clearly indicates that BTA inhibits the corrosion rate of CMA in artificial sea water. Calculated inhibition efficiencies (IE%), from the results of DEIS, LP and TP measurement techniques were compared. Good agreements among the results of three methods were observed. However IE% values should be calculated from Rct results obtained at the end of 5 hours when DEIS method was employed.
