Öğe Treatability studies of hospital wastewaters with AOPs by Taguchi's experimental design(Global Network Environmental Science & Technology, 2017) Yonar, Taner; Kurt, A.In this study, it was studied various advanced oxidation treatment processes; Fenton, UV/H2O2, UV/O-3/H2O2 for treatability of hospital wastewaters containing antibiotics (cephalosporines). Taguchi's L25 orthogonal array design was applied to design of advanced oxidation processes, for simplification of the analysis and calculations. 95,7%, 90,65%, 91,8% COD and 55,86%, 60,83%, 70,8% TOC removal efficiencies were obtained under the best operation conditions for UV/H2O2, UV/O-3/H2O2 and Fenton processes, respectively. According to the ANOVA results, pH was of great importance in COD removal for Fenton. For the UV/H2O2 processes, H2O2 has significance in COD and TOC removals. As for the O-3/UV/H2O2 processes, O-3/UV reaction time was found as an important parameter effecting the removal rates. Also, cephalosporine antibiotic active compounds (cefradine and cefaclor) were degraded completely within minutes for all of the processes. Taguchi's Method was found useful for the environmental applications and simplifications of advanced oxidation processes for treatment of hospital wastewaters and calculations.Öğe Investigation of electrochemical color removal from organized industrial district (OID) wastewater treatment plants using new generation Sn/Sb/Ni-Ti anodes(Global Network Environmental Science & Technology, 2019) Yonar, Taner; Shakir, F.; Kurt, A.In this study, the application of Sn/Sb/Ni-Ti electrodes for the treatment of waste streams were investigated which is promising for ozone production by electrolysis of water because of their stability and high potential for ozone evolution reaction. These series of anodes have a high electrochemical ozone generation potential at ambient conditions (approximately up to 40% current efficiency). But using and testing of these novel anodes for real wastewater are too limited in the literature. Titanium mesh substrate coated with Sn/Sb/Ni-Ti alloy was used as anode immersed in wastewater at room temperature with platinized titanium cathode. These electrodes used for COD and color removal from OID wastewater in Inegol, Bursa, Turkey. Five operational parameters were evaluated for electrochemical COD and color removal processes, such as pH, salt content, applied voltage/current, current efficiency and contact time. Experimental results showed that after 30 min the electrochemical oxidation efficiency of COD and color could reach up to 98% and 99% respectively at pH 8.2 and temperature of 25 degrees C as the optimum conditions. Current density observed as the most effective parameter for COD and color removal efficiencies. The lowest energy consumption was between 10-25 mA cm(-2) of current density with only 0.6 kWh gCOD(-1), while the highest energy consumption was 100 mA cm(-2) of current density with 9.12 kWh kgCOD(-1). The optimum current density value has been found as 50 mA cm(-2) with 4.05 kWh gCOD(-1). These results were also supported with ANOVA test.Öğe Influence of wax content on the electrical, thermal and tribological behaviour of a polyamide 6/graphite composite(Walter De Gruyter Gmbh, 2016) Ünal, Hüseyin; Kaya, Uğur A.; Esmer, Kadir; Mimaroğlu, A.; Poyraz, BayramIn this study, the influence of wax content on the electrical, thermal and tribological properties of a polyamide 6 composite filled with 15% wt. graphite was investigated. The wax filler contents of the composite were by 2, 4 and 6 wt.%. Characterisation of the composites was obtained using a Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy test. Electrical performance tests were carried out, and the dielectric real values (epsilon') and imaginary values (epsilon '') were recorded. Thermal differential scanning calorimetry tests were carried out, and the glassy and melting temperatures of the composite materials were recorded. Furthermore, tribological tests were carried out and the friction coefficient and wear rate of the composites were recorded. The results show that the increase in wax content led to the increase in the permittivity values (epsilon' and epsilon '') of the composites. The increase in wax content also led to the decrease in the friction coefficient and wear rates of the composite materials. Furthermore, the glassy and melting temperatures of the composite materials showed a sensitivity to the wax content. Finally, it is concluded that optimum properties, in total, were obtained in the composite filled with 6 wt.% wax.Öğe Ağır metale maruz kalan çalışanların idrarlarındaki krom değerlerinin ICP-MS ile belirlenmesi ve analitik değerlendirmesi(2015) Poyraz, BayramBu çalışmada 3 aylık bir çalışma periyodunda, mesleki olarak ağır metale maruz kalmış laboratuar çalışanlarının idrarlarındaki krom değerleri belirlenmiş ve bu süreçteki değişim incelenmiştir. İdrar yoğunluklarını belirlemek için Endüktif Eşleşmiş Plazma Kütle Spektrometresi (ICP-MS) cihazı kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada analitik performans özellikleri de incelenmiş ve sonuçlar ngL-1 seviyelerinde verilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda idrarların krom değerlerinin zamanla artış gösterdiği ve bu değerlerin zararlı maddeler ve hastalıklar birliği (ATSDR) tarafından belirtilen limit değerlerin üzerinde olduğu gözlenmiştir.Öğe Açık Hava Koşullarının Odunun Bazı Fiziksel Özelliklerine Etkileri(2014) Budakçı, Mehmet; Karamanoğlu, MehmetBu çalışma, açık hava iklim şartlarına maruz bırakılan sarıçam (Pinussylvestris L.), Doğu Kayını (FagusorientalisL.), sapsız meşe (Quercus petraea L.) ve Anadolu Kestanesi (CastaneasativaMill.) odunlarında meydana gelen sertlik, parlaklık ve renk değişimini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu maksatla, örnekler ASTM D-1641 esaslarına göre 12 ay süre ile açık hava iklim şartlarında bırakılmış, örneklerde oluşan sertlik, parlaklık ve renk değişimleri, ASTM D 2240, EN ISO 2813 ve ASTM D 2244 standartlarına göre belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, açık hava iklim şartları tüm ağaç malzeme yüzeylerinin sertlik, parlaklık ve renk değerlerini azaltıcı etki yapmıştır. En fazla değişim sertlikte sapsız meşede, parlaklık ve renkte ise sarıçamda meydana gelmiştir.Öğe Investigation of Prevalence of Co-Infection by Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis and Ranavirus in Endemic Beyşehir Frog (Pelophylax caralitanus)(2019) Erişmiş, Uğur Cengiz; Yoldaş, Taner; Uğuz, CevdetBatrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) and Ranavirus (Rv) are among the pathogens responsible for the rapid decline of amphibian populations worldwide. The aim of this study is to determine the presence of both pathogens in the endemic Beyşehir frog population living in the Lakes Region in the southwestern Anatolia between 2014-2015 years. Prevalences of each pathogen and co-infections (i.e., presence infection with both of Bd and Rv in same animal) were 48.6 %, 10.3 % and 7.0 % respectively and differences in prevalences were detected among lakes and years. This study is the first report of Rv infection and co-infection with Bd and Rv of endemic Beyşehir frog (Pelophylax caralitanus) in Turkey. Although there are infection by both pathogens, it is unclear that how effective in declining of P.caralitanus population.
