    Im?la Practices in the Context of K?fa Recitations: The Example of S?rat ??h?

    This article addresses the reading style of im?la, which is frequently encountered in the recitation of the Qur'an and is found in almost all verses of some surahs. Im?la, defined as the inclination of the letter 'alif' towards 'ya' or from 'fatha' to 'kasra', holds a significant place in the recitation of the Qur'an. The aim of the research is to examine the method of im?la within the context of the recitations of K?fi imams ??im, ?amza, Kis?'?, and Khalaf and to reveal their application methods, specifically in S?rat ??h?. Additionally, this study aims to highlight different approaches in the science of recitation and the conceptual framework of im?la recitation by examining frequently encountered im?la readings in surahs such as ??h?, Najm, A?l?, Shams, Layl, and ?u??. Within this context, the scope of the research includes examining the role and importance of im?la recitation in the Qur'an, as well as analyzing the approaches of recitation imams who use im?la in the 'qir???t al-?ashara' (the ten readings). Specifically, the study delves into the recitation methodologies and im?la techniques of prominent K?fi recitation school imams like ??im (ranked fifth), ?amza (ranked sixth), Kis?'? (ranked seventh), and Khalaf (ranked tenth) in the application context of S?rat ??h?. Methodologically, this study conducts a literature review on im?la recitations both from traditional and methodological perspectives, analyzing various recitation differences and the im?la method in the science of recitation. Additionally, by presenting examples of im?la applications in the Qur'an, the study emphasizes the meaning and importance of these readings, aiming to contribute to the science and practices of recitation.
