Öğe Comparison of Pinus Pinea Heartwood and Sapwood Pulps Obtained by Soda-Potassium Borohydride Method(2020) Erkan, Saniye; Çiçekler, Mustafa; Tutuş, AhmetThis study was aimed to compare pulp properties of Pinus pinea heartwood and sapwood pulp obtained frommodified soda method and to investigate effects of potassium borohydride (KBH4) used as a protective agent incooking processes. Eight different cooking experiments were applied to the heartwood and sapwood samples bychanging KBH4 ratio. The effects of KBH4 on some chemical, physical and optical properties of pulps obtainedfrom cooking processes were determined. Due to high content of soluble extraction of heartwood, yield ofheartwood pulp was approximately 24% lower than that of sapwood pulp. Using KBH4 in pulping processesincreased sapwood pulp yield, while it has a decreasing impact on heartwood pulp yield. Kappa number andviscosity values of sapwood pulps were better than those of heartwood pulps. With addition of KBH4 to liquorthere was increased kappa numbers of sapwood pulp in contrast to heartwood. In generally, physical properties ofsapwood pulp are better than that of heartwood pulp. But, there are no significant difference in optical propertiesbetween heartwood and sapwood pulp. With no regard to the type of pulps used, the pulp optical properties wereimproved by using KBH4 in pulping processes.Öğe Effects of Various Synthetic Surface Coatings on Thermal Conductivity of Fiberboard(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2012) Açık, Cebrail; Tutuş, AhmetIn this study, the effects of the PVC, melamine impregnated decorative paper, high pressure laminated surface coating materials and 8 mm thick fiberboard that was used in interior design, on the insulation of temperature, were researched. nbsp;In the experiments, heat conductivity constant was determined according to ASTM C 1113-90 Hot Wire Method standards. The least conductivity of temperature was detected on MDF coated by melamine impregnated decorative paper and the most conductivity of temperature was detected on HDF covered by high pressured laminate. nbsp;Öğe Investigation of Effects of Fire Retardant Chemical Substances on Mold Resistance in Laminate Parquet(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2013) Özdemir, Ferhat; Tutuş, Ahmet; Şen, SelimThe aim of this study is to determine the effects of certain fire retardant chemicals on mold resistance of laminate flooring. As a source of fiber for high density fiberboard (HDF) panels were used a mixture of %50 yellow pine and beech fibers. HDF panels were produced in 6,5 mm thickness by adding fire retardant chemical materials into fiber. In proportion to complete dry fiber essence fire retardant chemicals borax (BX), boric acid (BA), ammonium polyphosphate (APP) and alpha-x (AX) in pulverized form were added in the ratios of 3%, 6%, and 9%. Afterwards, surfaces of produced HDF boards were coated with overlay, decor and balance sheets and then laminated floorings boards were produced.Mold resistance of produced laminate flooring was explored. In the test, Aspergillus niger and Aureobasidium pullulans mold were used. To detect mold resistance, the test was made according to ASTM D4445–10. It was determined that 3%, 6%, and 9% additions of fire retardant (FR) chemicals enhanced mold resistance of laminat flooring. Hill ex Maiden) Grown in Karabucak Region(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2011) Bal, Bekir Cihad; Bektaş, İbrahim; Tutuş, Ahmet; Kaymakçı, AlperenBu çalışmada, E.grandis ağacında, radyal ve boyuna yönlerde, bazı fiziksel özelliklerdeki değişmelerincelenmiştir. Yoğunluk ile daralma miktarı arasındaki ilişki belirlenmiştir. Bu amaç için, örnekler sadece birağaçtan alınmıştır. Örnekler, gövdeden kabuktan öze doğru, dört eşit aralıklı noktadan ve gögüs seviyesindentaca doğru 8 eşit aralıklı noktadan alınmıştır. Bu örnekler üzerinde, taze hal rutubeti, tam kuru yoğunluk, hacimağırlıkdeğeri ve hacmen daralma miktarı belirlenmiştir ve en düşük ve en yüksek sonuçlar sırasıyla; %56-111,483-837 kg/m3, 440-722 kg/m3, %10.4-16.2 olarak ölçülmüştür. Ayrıca, regrasyon analizi hacmen daralmamiktarı ile tam kuru yoğunluk arasındaki pozitif-güçlü ilişkiyi ortaya koymuştur
