The study has been undertaken at town of Duzce city. The study was aimed evaluating the competence of the soil surface formations as bearing capacity of foundation. Study area is in the first degree of earthquake zone. Seismic shear waves (V S ) were investigated. Furthermore, the magnification of soil properties under the earthquake was investigated. On the account of the parameters of the soils under the effect of earthquake, the resonance compatibility of soils those cause the damage the structures has been investigated.
