Öğe Çocuk Acil Servisine başvuran nadir bir zehirlenme nedeni: Dieffenbachia süs bitkisi(2018) Engin, Muhammet Mesut Nezir; Balcı, Hatice; Timur, Furkan; Temizkan, Ramazan Cahit; Kılıçaslan, Önder; Kocabay, KenanDieffenbachia bitkisi Araceae (Arum) familyasının üyesidir. Dieffenbachia bitkisinin çiğnenmesiyle ağızmukozasında ülserasyon, orofaringeal ödem, konuşma zorluğu, dudaklarda ağrı, şişlik, yanma görülebileceğigibi; ayrıca hava yolunda oluşan tıkanıklığa bağlı solunum yetmezliği gibi ciddi klinik bulgular gelişebilir. Buyazıda dieffenbachia bitkisinden yarım yaprak yedikten sonra ağızda yanma ve şişlik gelişen üç yaşındaki çocukhasta sunularak ev ortamında sık kullanılan süs bitkisinin çocuklarda zehirlenme potansiyeli oluşturabileceğivurgulanmak ve oluşabilecek yan etkiler tartışılmak istenmiştir.Öğe A family with novel homozygous deletion mutation (c.1255delT; p.Phe419Serfs*12) in the glucokinase gene, which is a rare cause of permanent neonatal diabetes mellitus(2020) Bolu, Semih; Eröz, Recep; Doğan, Mustafa; Arslanoğlu, İlknur; Uzun, Hakan; Timur, FurkanHeterozygous inactivating mutations in the glucokinase gene cause the mildest form of maturity-onset diabetes of the adolescents. However, homozygous or compound heterozygous mutations in the glucokinase gene are a rare cause of permanent neonatal diabetes mellitus. Herein, we present the case of a male child with permanent neonatal diabetes mellitus whose mutational analysis revealed a novel homozygous deletion mutation in the glucokinase gene. The male proband of Turkish ancestry from consanguineous parents was born at 37 weeks gestation with a birth weight of 1870 g (<3rd percentile). Hyperglycemia developed during the first postnatal day and diabetes-related autoantibodies were negative. He was put on insulin on the first day of life. Insulin has never been discontinued since then. The mother was aged 35 years and had gestational diabetes. The father and the two brothers had impaired fasting glucose. Both parents and brothers were heterozygous for this mutation.Öğe A family with novel homozygous deletion mutation(c.1255delT; p.Phe419Serfs*12) in the glucokinasegene, which is a rare cause of permanent neonataldiabetes mellitus(2020) Doğan, Mustafa; Uzun, Hakan; Arslanoğlu, İlknur; Timur, Furkan; Bolu, Semih; Eröz, RecepHeterozygous inactivating mutations in the glucokinase gene cause the mildest form of maturity-onset diabetes of the adolescents. It is estimated that cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women worldwide, and it is one of the most preventable diseases, according to World Health Organization reports. HPV vaccination rates are relatively minimal in Turkey. The lack of parental awareness of HPV infection is a possible most critical factor that drives vaccination rates. Methods: The study included 1,023 healthy volunteer women who had at least one child aged 11-18 years. A self-explanatory questionnaire comprising of 14 questions was designed to assess and compare maternal awareness and behavior regarding HPV infection and HPV vaccine. Results: The study showed that a majority of the responders (68%) were aware of cervical cancer, minor of them (<22%) were aware of HPV vaccination. Less than half (32.81%) of the parents were found to be willing to vaccinate their children against HPV infection. The primary reason for non-vaccination was a lack of knowledge and concerns about side effects. Conclusion: The current survey demonstrates that parents have a comparatively high level of knowledge about HPV and its association with cervical cancer; however, acceptance of vaccination is low. The study highlights the necessity of developing public education politics to achieve a deep awareness of parents about HPV vaccination in the community.Öğe Yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesinde takip edilen prematüre olguların nörogelişimlerinin ve demografik özelliklerinin incelenmesi(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2019) Timur, Furkan; Kılıçaslan, ÖnderAmaç: Düzce Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı Yenidoğan Yoğun Bakım Ünitesinde takip edilen prematüre olguların Uluslararası Çocuk Gelişimi İzleme ve Destekleme Rehberi'nin (GİDR) Türk çocuklarında standardize edilmiş formu ile nörogelişim basamaklarının incelenmesi ve demografik özelliklerinin değerlendirilmesidir.
