    CHINA’S CENTRAL ASIAN POLICY AND KYRGYZSTAN

    The ‘Belt and Road Initiative’, that has recently been mentioned a lot, occupies a large place in China's foreign policy agenda. In the context of this project, China aims to establish a large transportation network from China to Europe. An important part of this transportation network will take place in Central Asia. In addition to this region’s geopolitical position, the Central Asia is also important for China’s growing economy as a market and energy supplier. This article deals with geopolitical importance of the Central Asia in general and Kyrgyzstan in particular in China's foreign policy. In addition, the Chinese government's approaches to the regional states and Kyrgyzstan are analysed in this article.
