Pioneering environmental governance: The role of the European Union

This study examines the role of the European Union in environmental governance. In this context, it first provides a general framework regarding the concept of environmental governance, then presents the historical development of the European Union's environmental policies through relevant documents, and finally addresses the activities carried out by the European Union and its member states in the realm of environmental governance.
