Öğe Difficulties In Prevention Of Overweight And Obesity In Children In General Practice In Bulgaria(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2010) Madjova, Valentina; Asenova, Radost; Forefa, GerganaGeneral practice is a suitable and natural environment for educating children on the issues ofnutrition and physical activity. The aim of the study is to research the main difficulties inprevention of overweight and obesity encountered in general practice. 34 general practitionersare encompassed in the study. Interviews with general practitioners have been made as well asa direct open observation of the preventive measures organization has been applied. The insufficient funding, lack of materials in appropriate form on the obesity in children as wellas the written documentation are the main barriers the general practitioners meet in theprevention of obesity in children. At this stage of the reform in Bulgaria there are substantialorganizational difficulties with regard to the insufficient volume and quality of preventivemeasures on the problem with obesity in childrenÖğe The Patients’ Opinion On Psychological Aspects Of General Practitioner’s Work(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2011) Madjova, Valentina; Forefa, Gergana; Asenova, RadostBackground: “General Practitioner” institution that functions as a “gate keeper” has no traditionin Bulgaria. After a reform in the organization and funding of the health care system it wasestablished in 2000. Because of the strongly approved patterns in the past, the biological aspectsof the health and illness are still a priority for patients and doctors in primary health care.Aim: The aim of the research is to know the opinion of the patients and their expectations fromgeneral practitioners regarding the psychological aspects of their health problem.Material and method: The research is carried out, by written questionnaire, in the waitingrooms of two out patients’ departments for primary health care, during five working days. Thequestionnaire contains twenty nine closed questions about patients’ perception and expectationregarding psychological aspect of health care providing by GPs. Additionally Generalizedanxiety disorder scale /GAD-7/ is included. 60,5% /112 patients/ of the patients-visitors duringthe investigated period, accepted to participate. All the questionnaires were fully filled in andthe data from them are processed with the help of standard package for statistic procession –SSPS.16.Results: The spread of psycologic complaints in our country is far greater than in some othercountries. Approximately 1/3 of the GPs’ patients need psychological help, which is also provedby the GAD-7 scale. The realized necessity of such a help in this group is 31%; GPs havereferred 25,7% of these patients to specialists.The patients without a high score on GAD-7 also need psychological support. About 80% ofthe patients admit that their family doctors give them psychological support by listening to themand let them ask questions freely, as well as by showing respect to their opinions and discussingtheir feelings. Only 10,3% of the patients report about consultations longer than 20 minutes.For 1/5 of the patients the GP is not competent as a psychotherapist. But they trust to him andthe general satisfaction with him declared by the whole group of investigated patients isconsiderable.Conclusion: The patients’ opinions, their expectations from the consultation should beinvestigated systematically. Such investigations may serve as a basis for improving the qualityof primary medical care
