Öğe The Mediating Role of Life Satisfaction in the Relationship between the Lifelong Learning Tendencies of Teachers and Their Attitudes toward Teaching(Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance Association, 2025) Korkman, Hamdi; Sapancı, AhmetThis study investigates whether life satisfaction serves as a mediator in the relationship between the lifelong learning tendencies of teachers and their professional attitudes toward teaching. The sample of the study comprised 361 teachers, and data were collected using instruments measuring tendencies toward lifelong learning, attitudes toward the profession of teaching, and overall life satisfaction. The data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS Version 27 and Process Macro 4.1 programs, employing independent-samples t-tests, Pearson’s correlation analyses, and mediation analysis models. There were significant positive relationships among lifelong learning, life satisfaction, and professional attitudes. Female teachers demonstrated a higher tendency toward lifelong learning than male teachers, consistent with previous research suggesting women are more inclined toward self-improvement. However, no significant gender-based differences were observed in life satisfaction, indicating that professional satisfaction may be shaped more by individual experiences than by gender. Furthermore, life satisfaction was identified as a mediator, suggesting that teachers with high lifelong learning tendencies and life satisfaction levels displayed more positive professional attitudes. These results underscored the importance of promoting lifelong learning and the well-being of teachers to enhance job satisfaction and commitment. Educational policymakers are encouraged to develop structured lifelong learning programs and wellness initiatives to support the professional growth of teachers. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.Öğe NVESTIGATION OF THERELATIONSHIP BETWEENCOVID-19 FEARANDINTOLERANCEOFUNCERTAINTYANDGENERALIZEDANXIETYDISORDER(2021) Korkman, Hamdi; Çolak, Tuğba SedaIn this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between Covid-19 fear and intolerance of uncertainty and generalized anxiety disorder in individuals aged 18-65 years and older. Also, it was examined whether Covid-19 and intolerance of uncertainty predicted generalized anxiety disorder significantly. In this study, data were collected, using convenience sampling model, from a total of 843 people, including 547 females(64.9%) and 296 males(35.1%) in Julyand August 2020. The data collecting tools of thestudy were the Covid-19 Fear Scale, the Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale (IUS), and theGeneral Anxiety Disorder Test (GAD-7). The correlationsbetween COVID-19 fear total score and IUS total score, and sub-scales’ scores, and GAD-7 total score wereexamined using the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient technique. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that there were significant and positive relationships between Covid-19 fear total score and IUS total, as well as betweensubscales’ scores and GAD-7. Additionally, the prediction level of COVID-19 fear and intolerance of uncertainty on generalized anxiety disorder was tested viaMultiple Regression Analysis, and it was observed that the fear of COVID-19 and IUS total score,IUS1,IUS4 were significant predictors of generalized anxiety disorder
