Öğe Analysis of Fiber Morphological and Chemical Properties of European Aspen (populus tremula L.) growing naturally in Turkey(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2013) Gücüş, Mehmet Onurhan; Eroğlu, HüdaverdiIn this study, chemical analysis and fiber structure of aspen (Populus tremula L.) tree were analyzed. The log of Aspen tree was obtained from Arit chief in Bartin forest management. Ratios of main chemical components of aspen tree, holocellulose, cellulose, lignin and ash content, hot and cold water solubility, % 1 NaOH and alcohol-benzene solubility, respectively. As a result, holocellulose, cellulose, lignin, ash content, the resolution of hot and cold water, %1 NaOH and respectively, alcohol-benzene resolution, %85.7, %58, %17.2, %0.28, %14,9, %5.86 and %19.2, respectively.In addition, measurements of fiber, fiber length, vessel size, lumen width, double wall thickness, elasticity ratio, Runkel classification rate and rigidity values were felting 1.33 mm, 695.1 ?m, 22.6 ?m, 17.1 ?m, 10.4 ?m, % 53.5, 0.86, %58.9 and 20.1 respectively. These results obtained here are by and large parallel to those of previous studies aspen tree species.Öğe THE EFFECT OF OXALIC ACID PRETREATMENT ON ALKALI PULPING PROCESS(Slovak Forest Products Research Inst, 2016) Üner, Birol; Akgül, Mehmet; Gücüş, Mehmet Onurhan; Demir, SerkanThe objective of this study was to determine prehydrolysis process on kraft and soda pulping process. Optimum cooking conditions were determined by different alkali concentration and cooking period. Oxalicacid was used to hydrolyzechip before cooking. Prehydrolysis proces increased the yield and viscosity of pulp. Incontrast, mechanical properties of paper were not changed significantly. Optical properties were decreased due to lignin content.Öğe Türkiye’de Oluklu Mukavva Tüketiminde Son Durum(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2018) Gücüş, Mehmet Onurhan; Akgül, MehmetBu çalışmada Türkiye’de ambalaj sanayinde kullanılanoluklu mukavva tüketimi verileri yıl bazında incelenmiştir. Türkiye’deki2007-2017 yıllarını kapsayan oluklu mukavva üretim ve tüketim durumlarıincelenerek gıda ambalajı sektöründe önemi belirlenmiştir. Türkiye’deki kişibaşına düşen kâğıt miktarı, genel kâğıt tüketimi, oluklu mukavvanın busektördeki payı üzerine değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Kişi başına düşen kâğıttüketimi son yıllarda genel olarak azalma eğilimi gösterse de, internetalışverişi, kargo taşımacılığı, gıda ve sağlık alanlarında oluklu mukavvanınkullanımında bir artış olduğu görülmektedir.Öğe Wood and Bark Chemical Composition of Euramerican Poplars (populus euramericana (I-214))(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2013) Akgül, Mehmet; Gücüş, Mehmet Onurhan; Demir, Serkan; Üner, BirolIn this study, some chemical properties and solubilities of Euramerican poplars (Populus euramericana (I-214)) wood and bark were analyzed. Wood specimens were obtained from in Düzce-Sakarya-Kocaeli region. Main chemical components of poplar wood; holocellulose (83.8 %), alpha cellulose(47.43 %), lignin(23.03 %) and ash (0.63 %) content, ratios (%) were determined, Furthermore, solubility of the wood flour in alcohol-benzene (0.50 %), hot water (0.63 %), cold water (0.35 %), 1% NaOH (19.48 %) and in percentage were found. The chemical components of Poplar wood outer and inner bark’s; holocellulose (56.65 %; 61.30 %), alpha cellulose(31.33 %; 50.35 %), lignin(36.04 %; 27.10 %) and ash (5.80 %; 6.68 %) content, ratios (%) were determined, In addition, solubility of the outer and inner bark flour in alcohol-benzene (10.85 %, 09.06 %), hot water (2.14 %; 11.83 %), cold water (12.85 %;13.70 %), 1 % NaOH (46.68 %; 31.98 %) and in percentages were found.Studied the results obtained previously are obtained from poplar wood and other deciduous trees with the results were found to be almost identical.
