    Interdisciplinary Graduate Theses on Violin in Turkey: A Current Assessment

    This study is a compilation of interdisciplinary postgraduate theses on violin. Accordingly, it provides a general information about the postgraduate theses in Turkey in which the violin instrument interacts with other disciplines. In the study, bibliometric research design was used. While collecting the data of the study, a search was made from the National Thesis Centre using the keyword "violin", and after the theses obtained as a result of the search were examined in detail, the interdisciplinary theses were put into tabular form according to the year of publication, university, institute, department and subject and presented in the study. A total of 427 graduate theses on violin were reached from the National Thesis Centre. As a result of the analyses, 13 of these theses were found to be interdisciplinary. According to the results of the research, it is seen that the 13 theses examined in the literature in which violin is handled in an interdisciplinary way are mostly prepared as master's theses (n: 10). It is seen in the sources that doctoral theses (n: 3) were prepared less. No proficiency in art thesis on this subject was found. The most interdisciplinary theses on violin were prepared in the Institute of Educational Sciences with the discipline of health. The results obtained show that the violin instrument has received relatively little attention in Turkey together with different disciplines. For this reason, it is thought that this research is important in terms of giving ideas to graduate students and researchers who want to do research in the field of violin.
