Öğe THE ANALYSIS OF DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES FOR SPEED CONTROL OF PERMANENT MAGNET SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR(Univ Osijek, Tech Fac, 2015) Dursun, Mustafa; Boz, Ali FuatThis paper presents the use of proportional integral (PI), proportional integral derivative (PID) and fuzzy logic (FL) speed controller techniques in the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive. PI and PID controllers require precise linear mathematical model of the system. On the other hand, FL needs linguistic description of the system. The dynamic response of PMSM with the controllers was studied under different load disturbances. The effectiveness of the fuzzy logic controller was compared with the conventional PI and PID controllers. The FL controller responded better than conventional techniques under transient load conditions and also achieved faster settling response.Öğe LLCL Filter Design for Grid Connected Inverters; a Detailed Performance Analysis(Gazi Univ, 2016) Karabacak, Murat; Kılıç, Fuat; Saraçoğlu, Bilal; Boz, Ali Fuat; Ferikoğlu, AbdullahCurrents injected into grid need to have a total harmonic distortion below 5% in grid connected inverters. To this aim, output filters are employed. For these filters, design conditions other than total harmonic distortion for voltage drop over the filter and reactive power consumption of the filter have to be also fulfilled. In literature, some filter schemes have been proposed to satisfy these conditions. In this study, the most important filter types are handled and a performance analysis between L, LCL and LLCL filter was implemented. Consequently, it is concluded that LLCL filter has higher performance and lower cost, on the condition that some risky points are considered.Öğe Optimization of harmonics formed in asynchronous motors through SPWM and genetic algorithms(2011) Doğan, Metin; Dursun, Mustafa; Boz, Ali Fuat; Poyraz, GökhanThis study on the elimination of harmonics which form in three-phase asynchronous motors driven by inverters uses genetic algorithms (GA), one of the optimization methods, to suppress the undesired harmonics. By the use of Matlab/Simulink program, the study aims to identify the optimum switching angles in the optimum number. Optimum switching angles are the angles which make the first harmonic amplitude the biggest and the harmonic largest first-harmonic amplitudes which is to eliminated the smallest. The model has been developed by using sinusoidal pals width modulation (SPWM) technique in simulink environment. No technical help of this model using the (standard condition) the harmonic values, the values of the harmonic occured by using SPWM and the results obtained with GA is presented in tables and graphs and analyzed the differences between them. As a result, greatly reduced of harmonics clearly shown also with the help of graphs in the study made with GA. ©2011 Academic Journals.Öğe Sensorless control application of PMSM with a novel adaptation mechanism(Springer, 2018) Dursun, Mustafa; Boz, Ali Fuat; Kale, Murat; Karabacak, MuratThis paper proposes a novel adaptation design to replace the classical proportional-integral controller used in model reference adaptive system (MRAS) speed estimation. The proposed adaptation scheme is an association of two fuzzy units. The rules of each module were obtained by user experience and numerical data. In the traditional fuzzy logic controllers, the computational complication enhances with the attributes of the system variable quantities; the number of rules increases incrementally while the number of control variables increases. This negatively affects the response time of the system. This novel design was deduced to reduce the number of rules for a linear function of system variables. By this way, the response of the system became faster. Detailed simulation and experimental results were obtained for comparison of this novel method with traditional MRAS techniques. The results showed that the proposed method was faster in speed tracking and exhibited higher prediction accuracy and less oscillation than the traditional method. Thus, the proposed MRAS method was clearly seen to be applicable and reliable.Öğe SENSORLESS SPEED CONTROL OF PERMANENT MAGNET SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR WITH HYBRID SPEED CONTROLLER USING MODEL REFERENCE ADAPTIVE SYSTEM(Düzce Üniversitesi, 2014) Dursun, Mustafa; Boz, Ali Fuat; Kale, Murat; Karabacak, MuratThis article presents a hybrid controller which consists of a parallel connected fuzzy logic (FL) and PI speed controller for the sensorless speed control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) using Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS). The aim of the study to prevent speed overshot in startup time of the motor and provides a better dynamic response in transient states. In addition, this study, in order to eliminate distortions caused by sensors that MRAS sensorless control method, due to its simplicity and good stability has been preferred for the estimation of speed. A detailed simulation comparison between the novel and traditional designs is carried out closed loop sensorless methods of operation when a vector control drive is working under load and no load separately for the PI, FL and hybrid control.
