Öğe Breast carcinoma with three coexistant type of metaplasia: Sarcomatoid, giant cell and squamous differantiation(2006) Belenli, Olcay Kandemir; Marko?, F.; Sağlam, A.; Çukur, S.; Alper, M.; Alpex, M.We report on a women with metaplastic carcinoma of the right breast. After diagnosis she had a simple mastectomy operation. Pathological investigations were carried out on mastectomy material. Immunohistochemical analyses were performed. Bizarre, malignant giant cells and diffuse inflammatory reactions were predominantly noted. Sarcomatous metaplasia and rare squamous metaplasia were also seen. There was not any area of classic intraductal, invasive ductal, lobular or papillary carcinoma. The patient is still alive and well for more than five years. This uncommon case is described and discussed, and the related literature is reviewed.Öğe Cholesterol granuloma of the maxillary sinus(Ethiopian Med Assn, 2004) Alper, Murat; Belenli, Olcay Kandemir; Aksoy, Kamuran Aylin; Suna, Mazlume; Çukur, SelmaCholesterol granuloma is usually associated with middle ear disease and is very rare in the paranasal sinuses. We report a case of cholesterol granuloma originating in the maxillary sinus of a 36-year-old female. Endoscopic sinus surgery was performed on the left maxillary sinus, and the cholesterol granuloma was successfully removed by the middle meatal antrostomy.Öğe Micropneumatosis coexistent with Helicobacter pylori and its improvement(2003) Belenli, Olcay Kandemir; Akcan, Yusuf; Alper, MuratMicropneumatosis intestinalis is the occurrence of gas-filled circular voids with diameter of 20-200 microns, not lined with epithelium. We report a 39-year-old man with superficial gastritis and Helicobacter pylori infection who also had gastric, duodenal and colonic micropneumatosis. Endoscopic biopsy after treatment for H. pylori gastritis showed no micropneumatosis in gastric, duodenal or colonic mucosal sections. We suggest that H. pylori may be one of the causative factors for micropneumatosis.Öğe Subepidermal calcified nodule(Univ West Indies Faculty Medical Sciences, 2003) Alper, Murat; Parlak, Ali Haydar; Belenli, Olcay KandemirSubepidermal calcified nodules are rarely seen and are classified under, idiopathic subepidermal calcifications. They commonly affect children. It is most frequently encountered in the face, and it is less common in the extremities. Here, we-present a case where the lesion was, localized on the knees of a 23-year-old female patient.
