Turkish Version of Urinary Symptom Profile: A Study of Reliability and Validity

Aim of this study is investigation Turkish version of “Urinary Symptom Profile” is a reliable and valid instrument. The data of the study designed as a methodological one were obtained from 320 women and over in Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine between December 2008- December 2009. Studies for validity of the inventory as to translation and content were performed and internal consistency and total item score correlations were investigated as to reliability. Ethical approval was obtained. Reliability coefficients of item-total score correlation of items in inventory were between r= 0.59-0.92, and a high level of statistically significant, positive and powerful correlation was found (p lt;0.001). In international consistency analysis, cronbach alpha reliability coefficient was found as ?= 0.96. Test- retest analysis was performed, and no difference was found to between each application. Turkish version of “Urinary Symptom Profile” is a reliable and valid instrument to be used in studies for pregnant women.
