    REFLECTIONS OF TRAUMA ON CREATIVE ACTIVITY

    No matter what aspect of art is taken, it would be an incomplete approach to develop an unmanned thinking. A person using his/her senses, emotions and mind, expresses his/her subjective reality. This study proposes that, in the light of psychology, the effects of artist’s psychological trauma can be made visible through his/her artwork, and as the production process and result, it can serve as a reconstruction/transgression tool/function. In accordance with this purpose, the creation processes of ‘I’ and ‘self’ on the way to becoming an individual are discussed, in the process behind self-realization of the established ‘I’, object of self, and traumas are associated through practice of art. The use of trauma as a solution tool through art is supported by their own discourses in the artist examples given.
